Surprisingly (at least to me), I have been branded a conservative. I definitely thought of myself that way growing up and through college, but I have changed significantly in the past few years. Perhaps that speaks to just how conservative I was. Here's how I looked at things:

Government should not censor speech, press, media or Internet.
Except (as has been pointed out) when you yell "fire" in a theater or reveal under-cover CIA agents' identities in newspapers.
Military service should be voluntary. There should be no draft.
Except when you don't have enough military to defend the country in a time of crisis. Would I be happy about it? Of course not, but someday it may necessarily come to that.
There should be no laws regarding sex for consenting adults.
Agreed.
Repeal laws prohibiting adult possession and use of drugs.
When it comes to marijuana, yes.
There should be no National ID card.
I don't have a problem with this one. Not sure why I should.
End "corporate welfare." No government handouts to business.
Agreed.
End government barriers to international free trade.
As long as the other countries play by the same rules.
Let people control their own retirement; privatize Social Security.
Agreed.
Replace government welfare with private charity.
Agreed. Let those who wish to give do so. I also think that this would likely lead to a better system, but I will admit that this may be wishful thinking.
Cut taxes and government spending by 50% or more.
Maybe. There is a lot of waste, but my support of this would depend on what would lose funding in the process.

This gave me a score of:
Your PERSONAL issues Score is 40%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 80%.

ETA: There was something like this is another thread that labeled me a libertarian/centrist. Go figure.

political compass:
economic:-1.25
social:-1.23

I think they needed a pass or no answer. A few questions I found to be too absolute. Of course, that might be why I'm almost dead on center.

I agree. There were quite a few questions like that.

The Political Compass
Economic Left/Right: -0.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.97

Looks like you and I are pretty close there.
