R. Mackey, as you work for NASA, please check this out...

http://www.cyclesresearchinstitute.org/health.html claims that research in chronoastrobiology is being performed by NASA Ames Research Center at Stanford amongst other institutions.

Perhaps as you work for NASA, you can confirm or deny the above claim for us?

I have advanced degrees in aeronautics, and I am a scientist working for NASA.

You are a liar. I distorted nothing. Prove me wrong.

Whenever you see NASA or some other respectable organization used to support these sorts of dubious claims, you can be sure that the goals of the research are being taken out of context. In this case:

http://www.nasa.gov/lb/centers/ames/research/exploringtheuniverse/exploringtheuniverse-marssol.html

The circadian cycle of the human body is well-established and has been studied for years. The NASA research is meant to see if people who are supporting the Mars mission will be affected by the difference between the length of the Mars day and an Earth day. This doesn't seem to have anything to do with "helio- geophysical time structures that may have existed at the sites of life's origins, wherever they may have been, on or away from earth" as claimed on that Cycles Research Institute page.

Your points are well-taken. Thanks. I'll check them out.

You have yet to back up your accusation that I "distorted" the reality of the Wright Brothers working within, rather than challenging, the scientific establishment.

NASA Ames Research Center is not "at Stanford," it is in Mountain View and is an independent government laboratory. Your premise is laughable.

There is an Astrobiology Institute within NASA Ames (http://nai.arc.nasa.gov/). A quick search does not turn up any mention of the word "ChronoAstroBiology" or any variant thereof.

There are roughly 1800 people at Ames. It is possible that some are working on something that you would deem "ChronoAstroBiology." However, I have yet to see a clean definition of what that is, so it is difficult to confirm or deny.

Finally, since you saw fit to call me out, I repeat my gripe with you: Where did I distort the historical reality of the Wright Brothers and scientific opinion on crewed, powered flight? Either retract your comment or back it up -- or remain a liar.

Oh, shoot... I kept thinking that NASA Ames was at Moffet Field. But that seems is just the name of the air field (airship field... woo hoo --- last summer son and I explored the remaining blimp hangar in Tillamook, OR).

Here is some age appropriate reading for Jackel: Wright Brothers

Thanks, HC.

In return... via google...

OK, they invited Halberg to give a talk about chronoastrobiology over seven years ago. Is there any evidence that they are actually carrying out research into it?

We should probably assume that R. Mackey is playing a significant role in NASA's cover-up propaganda campaign.

He is a puppet set up at JREF to spread misinformation to skeptics. All skeptics will dutifully nod their heads in time to his comments so that only myths and pseudoscience will propagate amongst skeptical ignorami. Furthermore, considering the Wright Bros. it can be shown that R.M. is clearly lying due to rhubarbrhubarbrhubarb...

I've thought of several retorts, but the programming must already have me, because all I can say is, "Oke-ily doke-ily, will-do-arooni."
