I normally don't watch the Jimmy Kimmel show, but friday night I happened to flip past it. Charlie Sheen was on and he was talking about how he buys into the 9/11 CTs. He said something like [I'm paraphrasing], "I believe it's my right as a taxpaying citizen to believe this." Sure it's his right, but that doesn't mean he's right.

No, no, no, you don't understand, Everyone has a Right to an opinion, this is the highest right afforded to anyone in the world today, and if you disagree with his opinion, you are INFRINGING ON HIS HUMAN RIGHTS!

Why do you want to oppress him! NAZI! :p

actually, I am regularly surprised by the umber of people who believe that "everyone has a right to an opinion" (which I is true) but who also believe that I have no right to express an opinion on their opinion.

The "loosers" have been celebrating for weeks over the fact that Charlie Sheen has joined their side, whereas I've always taken the view that if a lot of Hollywood celebs where behind a cause, it's a very good reason to take a very close look at the facts behind it.

I'm sorry, I think you may as well give up when Charlie Sheen joins your side. Unless you're a madame.

and that if I don't want to listen to their opinion I'm depriving them of their rights. Freedom of speech is not a guarantee of an audience.

I wonder what James Woods thinks of all the conspiracy nonsense - he was on a plane where he thinks he saw some of the hijackers scoping things out for the future.

This is my first post.

It always amazes me how people confuse the right not to have the government shoot you for your opinions with the right not to be laughed at or ignored. The first I'd defend to the death, the second's just silly.

I was wondering the other day:

"I wonder what some washed-up-whore-seeking-actor-whose-father-and-brother-are-more-successful-than-him was thinking about this CT."

So going by Sheen's argument, a non-tax paying, non-citizen, doesn't have a right to an opinion?

I've bumped into people who seem to think the First Amendment renders it illegal to criticize their speech. One wonders how we're suppose to criticize the government under such loopy conditions.

I enjoy watching the CTers leap for joy when a celebrity joins their side, too. It couldn't be a legitimately well-respected one - it had to be Charlie Sheen. Maybe Paris Hilton will jump on board soon.

I refuse to coment on this until I see where Pam Anderson stands on the issue.

True, if Charlie Sheen or Pam Anderson came out and announced their opposition to torturing puppies, I would at least momentarily re-consider my position on puppy torture.

:) I know, I want to copyright a common expression so I can get paid for it also. Ed knows she needs the money.

Oh, but she will need the money, in five years time she is going to have to start plastic surgery and botox treatments so she won't look like she is a wrinkled stick ;) I am looking forward to her competing with JOCELYNE WILDENSTEIN for most bizarre appearance :D
