astrology,feng shui and research

Well, its a man. I'll give you self-confident. He is in his second marriage; it is very poor. He got married in his late thirties. He's a writer.

You are doing very poorly and you told me earlier you could predict occupation.

I never said i can predict occupation, i can only say who is more likely to be a politician and the most favorable professions, assuming this system works

Ah, I see. Tell us, what would convince you that you were wrong about astrology? Because you don't seem to be doing very well with your readings so far. Even the politician thing isn't very telling; it seemed like you found about the same percentage of 'power' element in politicians as you did in the general population.

Again i didnt say he is married only that marriage should be good

No, i said controls are not guiving accurate results. Sometimes i get the same number of people with power sometimes i dont. Are you sure you read my posts?

he's had two lousy marriages.

Im surprised. Thanks for telling. Ill see if my teacher does better than me.

I did read your posts, woodwater. It seems to me that the distribution is pretty much what you would expect from a random sample. Have you done any statistical studies to determine what percentage of the population you would expect to have the 'power' element by random chance, and then compare that to your results?

Can you suggest how?
So far i picked random birthdates from my software not from real people but im sure there are many people born on those dates

This is very funny. In astrology forums everyone praises me for my accuracy, here i dont get one right. I suppose it is their predisposition to believe:confused:

I think that is part of it. Also, are they responding to more vague statements about personality attributes? As some of the others have said, we tend to agree with general statements about our personalities if they are attributes we'd like to have.

I've tried to stay focused on concrete things like occupation and marital status so that my biases won't interfere. Either these people are engaged in the occupation you identify or they are not. There is some subjectivity is labelling a marriage "good" or bad" but none in the first case where you said "good marriage" about someone who is not married.

Perhaps you are beginning to see the low accuracy rate of this system.

very stubborn [not especially, depends what the issue is],down to earth, reliable, trustworthy person[I suppose so, but who doesn't think they are?]. Very knowledgeable, studious, a scholar maybe, [you could say that] but can be explosive [no]. Knowledge [yes]and friends [something of a loner] very importabnt. Individualistic, [what does that mean?]but spoiled by parents [no]

Most of these are pretty vague statements.

Good marriage means the relationship with spouse is good

I suppose that would be a good start. Pick, say, 500 random times/locations and generate charts for them, and determine how many have the power element. I'm assuming that whether or not the power element occurs is not open to interpretation, right? It's there or it isn't, and everyone using the program would come to the same conclusion? You need a large number of random charts to make sure you're not seeing the results of small number statistics. That will give you a rough average for how many people of the general population would have the power element. Then you compare this number to the number of politicians with the power element, and see if the difference is significant.

Surely you see that this is subjective. Different people will have different standards for what a "good" relationship is. Therefore, it is more difficult to say whether you are right or wrong

On the other hand, occupation is more objective. Someone either is or isn't a bus driver or dentist and so we can more readily track your accuracy.
