Sirhan Sirhan Parole hearing

Many JREFers are too young to remember Sirhan Sirhan. Sirhan Sirhan killed Robert F. Kennedy on June 5, 1968 minutes after Kennedy won the California Presidential Primary. His motive was Kennedy's support for Israel as Sirhan Sirhan was a Palestinian Arab. Well Sirhan Sirhan is up for parole.

If the California board recommends Sirhan Sirhan's release then ironically the decision of whether to free Sirhan will fall to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who happens to be married to Robert F. Kennedy's neice. What a bizzare twist of fate.

I don't think Arnold will free Sirhan Sirhan if the parole board recommends parole.



(On a side note Arafat took U.S. Ambassador Cleo Allen Noel, Jr. and Chargé d'Affaires George Curtis Moore hostage at the Sudan embassy in 1973 to "negotiate" the release of Sirhan Sirhan... and when Nixon refused the Palestinian terrorists murdered U.S. Ambassador Cleo Allen Noel Jr. and George Curtis Moore)
 
Even Charles Mason is up for parole once every few years. Being on his parole board must be the easiest job in the world:

MASON: "I'm going to cut your f***en d**k off and shove it up your f***en a**, you n***er c**ksucker f**khead!"
BOARD MEMBER: "See you in five years, Charley."
 
The part that blows me away is Sirhan Sirhan assasinated Kennedy in '68. And now almost 40 years later the Governor of California - an Austrian actor bodybuilder - is married to Kennedy's neice. Who would've "thunk" it. ;)

I can't see Manson ever getting out. Maybe some of his family will one day be released, but not Manson himself.

Cleo A. Noel Jr. and George Curtis Moore were among a group of men seized by Black September terrorists during a reception held at the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Khartoum [Sudan]. The terrorists demanded the release of Sirhan Sirhan, the Palestinian assassin of Robert Kennedy, as well as terrorists being held in Israeli and European prisons. President Nixon refused to negotiate. The tape was of conversations between Arafat in Beirut and his thugs in Khartoum. Execute the diplomats, ordered Arafat. The terrorists obeyed, machine gunning the unarmed, hapless Noel and Moore. They also killed a Belgium diplomat. The authenticity of the tape was verified in U.S. laboratories by both the State Department and the White House.

Maybe if I killed a few diplomats and then promised to stop, I could get a Nobel Peace prize too. Heck, its not as if I would actually need to stop killing people.

funny thing this "tape"...I can't find anyone who says they have heard it. There is much talk about the existance of a tape but nobody can actually produce one....Did you read this and just accept that it was true that a tape exists? Maybe you have better sources as I would like to get the details of what is on the tape...can you help out?

Dountful. If you look at John Cooley's conclusions Black September were a classic cell like organisesation which would have made it difficult for Arafat to get them to do anything.

Maybe... I'll leae to Z-N finding sources, but it's not, after all, as if that mass murderer had ever shrinked from killing of innocents, noncombatants, or US citizens.

You know, that's the problem with Arafat's image. All he did was orchestrate the killing of a few thousand of lousy jews, and next thing you know, people think he might have been capable of killing real human beings, like US ambassadors, even without aboslute proof of his involvement.

(Yes, I know he did orchestrate the killing of quite a few US citizens, including throwing into the sea an old man in a wheelchair, but they were just jews, so it doesn't count.)

It's a real shame, dragging the name of a nobel peace prize winner through the mud like that.

When we read the facts of world events we are very rarely, as individuals, presented with the actual physical evidence so that each and every one of us can make up our minds for ourselves. I haven't personally handled the bloody glove from the O.J. Simpson trial, nor the bullet from the Kennedy assassination (the other one) nor have I seen the DNA results from the stain on Monica’s dress, yet facts from all of these events have been reported to me by reliable sources, and while I may often question their interpretation of the facts they bring to me, I very rarely find reason to question the facts themselves.

A better analogy than a unicorn flying over the moon would be the lunar landings. Like the tape of Arafat ordering the death of American diplomats, it’s an historical event reported through reputable media, yet I have not personally witnessed it nor handled any of the physical evidence. While there are people who disbelieve the lunar landings, they are not people we take seriously.
