Should we shut the hypothetical street corner porn booth

It’s bad parenting to let your child watch porn. (As well as illegal of course.)
No, it would be bad parenting to deny your child the educational right they have to internet mass media. Your country signed and ratified that. Deal with it.

Clearly, this is being given a wide birth:

Every street corner has an automated porn vendor. There's a sign saying 'over eighteens only' but anyone entering can do so safe in the knowledge that they will be alone and unobserved. It is known that children regularly go there.

Should we shut it down - yea or nay?

Does it? *looks at my local street corner* I can't see it. Can you point it out to me?

Or just answer the question.
I'm not happy that porn is being shown to youngsters; I'm assuming most people share that view.
It's not being shown to "youngsters". They're going out and looking for it, like they always have and always will. Nobody is actively showing it to them.

Wait, are we subjecting youngsters to porn via the Ludovico Treatment and I didn't know? Because I'd be willing to go out on a limb and say "I'm against that.".

BTW, "automated porn vendor" should totally have been a Cyberpunk 2077 role.

People falling over themselves making excuses.

And still no response to #6,602...............................

We’re teenage girls fighting to ban the use of school uniform in porn. Why have you left it up to us?

No shopkeeper actively shows you their wares when you walk down the street where their shop is; but that they are doing all they can to attract your attention is indubitable.

What has that got to do with it not being bad parenting to let your child watch porn? If you were a parent would you let your child watch porn?

I'm telling you outright. There is no automated porn vendor on any street corner near me. Could you perhaps post a photo of one so that we know what they look like?
Perhaps he means stores that sell TVs that can display porn? Not many corner high street TV sellers in the UK these days, it's usually the box box warehouse style stores on retail parks and they have the TVs to the back of the stores.

1. Do children have a right to internet mass media?
2. Are you going to respond to #6,602?

Parents who deny their children the benefits of internet access are letting them down. Now go and make it a safe place for them.

Not happy with that task? UNCRC.

For the third time what has this got to do with it not being bad parenting to let your children watch porn?

At the moment the only conclusion I can come to is that you think a parent is breaching a child's rights if they don't let it watch porn. You do know a child does not have a right to watch porn? Has this been your confusion all along and you think a child has the right to watch porn?

Would you consider a parent a bad parent if they let their child watch porn? I would.

Children have a right to access internet education including mass media. They should be able to do that safely. If that means we regulate the internet (as we do with DVDs for example) and take down offending websites, then so be it.

Now let's compare that with your solution to kids watching porn.

No parent will prevent their child from seeing internet porn. Your refusal to respond to what you have been asked is noted.

It is very easy to stop a child from seeing internet porn. That more parents don't pay attention to what their kids are up to is to say the least disappointing.

Plus of course your solution of banning internet porn won't stop internet porn.
