So women will live longer as second-class citizens?

The whole spetacle of GOP congress critters kissing the butt of trump nonstop is a major reason I am voting a straight Democratic ticket...and that is something I HATE doing.
Now more then ever, I want a Constutuioinal Amendment imposing Term Limits on Congress. IMHO the idea of allwoing people to make elective office a lifelong career has failed miserably. Getting relected in their Phony Baloney Jobs becomes their main concern
I would say what exacerbates the problem is that the endless gerrymandering and unshakeable tribalism means that the jobs are basically sinecures where competence or even basic cognitive abilities are not required.

Doesn't he understand that it was always designed to, as he calls it, "leak"?
The water would naturally cycle, because imagine a giant pool of stagnant water during the summer, it would turn green.
There is leakage beyond what cycling would cover.

That said the pool has had other major issues - it had been sinking for some time (its built over a swamp after all) and that was fixed during the Obama administration when they drove in log pylons to support it - much like the buildings in Venice.

But it still leaked and long-term it could be a bigger issue with damage to the structure. Biden looked into a plan but it was costly (100 million) so he deferred on the repair. Trump lied and said Biden approved a 300 million dollar repair.

Leakage is also less of an issue these days as the water is pumped in from the bay (and treated with ozone) rather than using much more expensive treated municipal water. That change alone save the city (and the the US Gov.) millions.

The fact is a stupid pool coating was never going to work. Pool coatings are for pools, not for what are essentially monuments. His continued attempt to blame 'vandals' is beyond denying reality. The WP even printed an investigative article showing some 80 issues with the coating.

No matter what anyone tells you the pool often had to be drained anyway. Bird crap and junk tossed in by tourists meant it needed occasional cleaning. They tried to avoid doing it during the busy season but it was done.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

New Mexico should immediately change its name to New America.
We are not Mexico, we are the United States of America!
The name would add great value and prestige to the State!
Home Values and Incomes would rise, and you would be even prouder while saluting our beautiful American Flag!
Maybe even the Crooked Elections, that New Mexico is known for, would become honest again!
President DONALD J. TRUMP

There are some who might argue that Trump himself was not the disease, but the symptom of the disease;

And others who will point out that he's both the symptom of the underlying problems and a serious problem in and of himself.

That the problems in the republican party that led to Trump go back decades (back to the days of the Southern Strategy of accepting racists into the party, and the days of Newt Gingrich and his "party of country" attitude). Yes, Trump was bad (and he might have accelerated the decline of the republican party), but this was the direction republicans were already going in.

It can be traced back further, honestly, given their much longer history of focusing on consolidating wealth and power into fewer and fewer hands using problematic strategies. The Southern Strategy, their choice to embrace religious zealotry, and so on certainly are very notable as they added more brands of evil and either marginalized or drove away the more good, patriotic, and reasonable factions.

Its going to take more than just the removal of Trump to restore the republican party.

Unfortunately. I've been voting straight Democrat for a while now and I honestly don't like feeling forced to do that because of how overtly vile the Republican Party has been, especially since the Obama years. I'm fundamentally opposed to a single party system and I would prefer to let my vote show that. What I really want is (at least) two main parties that are both loyal to the country, have reasonable differences of opinion to spur good, honest discussion on how to make the country better, and will properly keep themselves and each other accountable. The Democratic Party's received a passing grade in each of those and the Republican Party has failed badly at all of those.

Where do they find these people? Oh, I know; they just check their lists of donors.
Alternately, picking from a list of people who have made it perfectly clear that they seek to sabotage and/or corrupt the agency in question. "Government is dysfunctional, corrupt, and doesn't work for you!" is a loud complaint of Republican politicians to the masses that they actively work to make more and more true, after all.

As much as I hate Trump, I am not going to go overboard about his physical problems and the fact he is probably wearing a leg brace.
Hell, FDR could not walk, period, and needed a leg brace just to stand up to give speeches.

So don't, I wasn't asking you to. I made a single comment, that he looks like ◊◊◊◊ when he moves, and that is going "overboard" now? Times really are changing.

I get it though, both sides are bad and acknowledging how terrible he moves is...bad? Right?

Thank you for the call out. I'll do my best to raise my standards when it comes to talking about Trump. You're right dudalb. Hopefully, one day, both sides won't be as bad as each other. We know Trump would never lash out at anyone else's looks. We should treat him with respect because FDR couldn't walk, or some ◊◊◊◊.
