Cont: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine part 9

I've been wondering if Russia might be getting oil from Iran. No common border, but not all that far. Any pipelines that way? Anyhow, wouldn't it be awesome if the Russian diesel Trump is getting for us all turned out to come from Iran?

On Sunday, Trump announced an "energy ceasefire" deal between Russia and Ukraine that did not exist. Ukraine said they would agree to it anyway. Russia said they wouldn't.

The imaginary deal existed for one key reason - so Trump could blame Ukraine for high gas prices in the US, rather than the real cause: his war in Iran.

Within hours, Russia continued their attacks on Ukrainian energy targets. Ukraine refrained for 3 days.

Despite Ukraine abiding by the non-existent truce, Trump, his supporters, and the online botnets continued to attack Ukraine and Zelenskyy.
But this wasn't enough. Yesterday, the US stopped providing early warning data to Ukraine that allowed civilians to have at least a few minutes warning before the missiles begin raining down on Kyiv and other cities. They already stopped selling Ukrainine the air defence missiles required to shoot them down, now we don't even know they are coming until the explosions begin. This morning Russia attacked Kyiv and Kharkiv with 39 missiles and 120 attack drones, again directly attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure. People have died. There was not even 3 minutes to seek shelter, the warning that has been taken away.

Now, this morning comes news that Starshield, a military version of Starlink that Ukraine has been using in Ukraine, has been crippled by SpaceX, effectively making it unusable. This was done without warning, actively harming troops and civilians on and near the frontlines.

At no point has there been any criticism of Russia for their continued attacks. Instead, Trump makes a deal with Putin that does little to help Americans, but funnels cash straight to the genocidal Russian war machine.

Ukraine will keep fighting wth or without America's help, but with America's help this war ends faster, and fewer people die.

Please, my American friends, contact whoever you can to take action against the madman in the Whitehouse. And vote blue on November 4.

You know you're lying horribly when even the russians step in to fact-check you.

  1. Senior Russian officials explicitly stated that the war in Iran — not Ukrainian strikes against Russian oil refineries — is the primary driver of global diesel shortages, while simultaneously using the October 9 fuel agreement to convince the US to support its negotiation position.

If you're on social media, anywhere, please post support for Ukraine. It was an extremely tough night, and then to wake up to the starshield news.
I came to Ukraine the first time soon after the Oct 7 Hamas attacks in Gaza, because I could detect the despair in my Ukrainian friends and family as the world just forgot about them.

It feels a bit like that again now.

Kazakhstan has huge amounts of oil and gas. Perhaps a more likely partner there.
I kinda wonder why not get it directly from Kazakhstan, then. I don't think China would mind it going through their land to a port, if they get paid.

Plus there must be some way to get it through the same Caspian to Azerbaijan and Armenia to Turkey, and good luck to Iran trying to blockade it once it's in the Mediterranean. I know Azerbaijan exports oil products including fuel to China, and imports some others from Kazakhstan, so they must have a tanker and a terminal each capable of loading/unloading that stuff.

Not sure why you'd want to Russia to buy it and then export it to the USA, other than as a performative stunt since probably most people still remember Russia as being a giant gas station, but then I'm no politician.

It's got nothing to do with the oil per se. It's all about the election - "see, Russia is helping us, that ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Zelenskyy doesn't care about you! He's the reaso prices are high!"

Absolutely horrible. Elonia and the US are a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ disgrace.

On another note, a long time ago in a galaxy far a... err... just some while ago, an email from Epstein brother was leaked, where he was asking if Putin had the photo of Trump sucking off Bubba. Followed soon afterwards by the clarification that no, Bubba wasn't a horse. Since, you know, the internet's minds went there.

Given Trump's bending over backwards for Putin, I have to wonder if Putin does have some damning kompromat on Trump.

At least 600,000 people in Ukraine are without electricity after deadly overnight Russian missile and drone strikes, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

He said "critical" energy infrastructure had been hit in Kyiv and the capital region and in the north-eastern city of Kharkiv - despite US President Donald Trump's claim on Sunday that an "energy ceasefire" was in place between Russia and Ukraine...

Separately, Zelensky's adviser said speed restrictions on the Starlink communications network had disrupted Ukrainian battlefield "missions".

Serhiy Beskrestnov said Elon Musk's SpaceX company had "implemented overnight a speed limit on Starlink terminals"...

"It is clear that this action cannot be a coincidence and is related to the current political situation," Beskrestnov added...

A source in the Ukrainian defence ministry later told the BBC: "Last night, we detected restrictions affecting Starlink connectivity at speeds above 160 km/h, although we are still verifying the exact speed threshold.

"This situation is significantly complicating operations, particularly logistics, unmanned systems, middle-strike missions, and other activities," the source said, adding the "root cause" of the issue was being investigated.

I think it's more about the US midterm elections, and probably some inside trading by the Trump family and friends, knowing that a price fluctuation is about to happen. Which briefly did happen. Zelenskyy is just the scapegoat IMHO.

Last night, the operation of Starlink terminals in Ukraine was restricted. Connectivity began to drop when moving at speeds exceeding 160 km/h.
That's for Starshield, the military version. Reports now that Starlink, the public version, has been restricted to 70km/h.
So even the ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ buses I take to and from Ukraine no longer have internet.
