Does 'rape culture' accurately describe (many) societies?

More sexual and physical abuse has been the result of teaching individuals the Bible and the Quran than any pornographic movie. If you really are concerned with abuse start with the sick teachings of the Abrahamic religions. Those people are freaks.

I thought you said you had some Christian friends?

I thought you said you had some Christian friends?
I do. But that doesn't mean the biblical teachings are any less sick. It also doesn't mean that Christians didn't slaughter Muslims and vice versa during the Crusades. It doesn't mean that Sunnis and Shiites haven't been slaughtering each other. Or that the Catholics haven't killed and infected indigenous tribes all over the planet. Not to mention how Catholics committed genocide of the Jews on an ongoing bases.

...or that Stalin slaughtered the millions that he did (20 million)....

Do you tell your Christian friends that you think they are freaks?

Well therefore 'so' to your religious examples....except I wouldn't say that. Those examples are disgraceful - but like Stalin, it's the result of a few bad actors with a lot of influence...and a lot of sheep like people.
No no no. No one said non-religous people couldn't do bad things. Religious people us religion as a motive to do bad things.
But they must know your views? Surely?
The vast majority of Christians today don't have a clue what's in their instruction manual othe than a few scattered verses.

UK children are already taught about the dangers of porn (compulsory since September 2020): distorted realities, misogyny, negative impact on relationships, consent and coercion. Since you believe that education is the fix, then please expound on where the UK's Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) curriculum has gone wrong and what changes are required.
I'm not a curriculum expert, but whatever the UK is doing, it's not working. So I'd say that where the UK's Relationships, Sex and Health Education curriculum has gone wrong is in getting the wrong people to write it.

Summing it up would be tautologous.
Never stopped you before. For example:

Sexual abuse falls within the definition of rape culture. We have facilitated that. In kids.
Porn is a celebration of lust and self and is contrary (in general) to what it takes to raise a child.
Children are product of lust. What else makes people want to have sex with one another?

That's a lot of kids that need punishing - kids acting mimetically after watching porn.
There's the connection that you have consistently failed to justify.

Stalin (and Mao, and Pol Pot etc.) didn't slaughter anyone in the name of atheism, if that's where you're going. He slaughtered them in the name of the brand of Communism he subscribed to (at least nominally), which had, ironically, turned into a religion of its own, complete with unquestionable dogma.

Just out of curiosity, have you raised any children?

I love and respect my wife immensely, but I also lust after her like I did when we were high school seniors (we've been together 37 years, and she knows how to do that thing that makes me go "wheeeeeelaaaa!!!"). Lust is a natural state. The desire for sex has been heavily selected for by evolution, for obvious reasons, and the desire for sex isn't the problem. The problem is when desire for sex is placed before the desires and/or age of consent of someone else. People don't need to be in love, or in a permanent monogamous relationship for sex to be a healthy, beautiful and joyful experience. Two (or more) consenting adults have every right to have sex "just for fun", and they don't have to have children to do it.

Whichever...but let's quit this charade that we are civilised.
Ah, so you're playing charader, I have been wondering. I would have guessed silly bygger, though.

But again; educate yourself. Modern Western democracies are much better at respecting the rights of women and children, than any other major society before us. If you think otherwise, the only explanation is that you are not very well informed. I have never claimed that we are perfect, but we are better.

Is anyone else remembering @DOC right now?

Which country has got it right arthwollipot?

Interesting that you make no mention of what, other than lust, it takes to make a relationship work and create the right environment for children. Lust is good but it needs taming - the very opposite of your pro-porn pov.
There's the connection that you have consistently failed to justify.
So the problem you posted about has nothing to do with porn? Even though the article you linked to is all about that? What exactly is the problem art? I mean (and this has come up before) - what...the children are sexting because we haven't normalised sexual imagery? Is that right?

I'm not sure that any country has got it exactly right. What makes you think one has?

Without lust, there is no motivation to have sex. Without sex, no babies. Therefore lust is a critical component for making babies.

The problem is that the kids aren't being properly educated to understand what's good and what's not. I thought that would have been obvious by now, but here we are.

Something to do with your post perhaps?

I'll ask again, where has the curriculum gone wrong art? You say the English (and Welsh) have got it wrong - but that you aren't sure that any country has got it right - and yet somehow the 'right' education will solve the problem. What is the educational fix pleased art? Let's have some detail please and no vague platitudes.

Didn't say otherwise and you ignored the rest of what I said which goes to the heart of why porn is a problem.

That's vague and you know it. Again, you avoid addressing the specifics of what I wrote. Let's have your miraculous super-educational fix please.

...and VAWG, as I have repeatedly said, is a NATIONAL EMERGENCY in the UK and rape has been effectively decriminalised...and the internet is flooded with misogynistic porn, underage roleplay porn...you-name-it porn...and kids are watching it...

Civilised? Not a chance.

And all from someone who says:
I don't watch porn. I am a feminist.

...but that it is not because of misogyny???
