For that first clip- yeah, you do gotta wonder what motivates a man to talk so much about 11year drag queens. Because I would bet that Vance and the righties spend a lot more time talking (and thinking) about it than Talarico does.
For the second clip- well, there are a lot of things that we do nowadays that has nothing in the Bible to support them. But the whole idea of our Constitutionally secular (i.e., religiously neutral) form of government is that that doesn't matter. Vance and his ilk are being sneaky here, though- they know perfectly well how politically impossible it would be for any American politician to come right out and say that. They don't actually measure their policies against some biblical metric any more than any other realistic politician would; but it makes a handy talking point to suggest to a largely Christian country that it's the other party that falls short in that regard.
