jack smith deposition

well at least we can all see how the republican party is abusing social media and influencers to spread propaganda and lies. and why the cozy up to people like andrew tate, the paul brothers, joe rogan and the ufc, etc. these guys will lie to you for money

hell, tim pool was caught taking direct payment from russia and he's still around.

Hot take. One of Schmitt's staffers really really hates him. They saw the mistake, knew it was completely wrong, and let it slide on by.
Doubt it. They wouldn't risk a cushy job just to humiliate a truly awful boss. Chances are it's a small team. So it would be too risky getting found out. Unless they were smart enough to pin it on another team member, it's an actual display of dumb-◊◊◊◊-ery by one or more. Because someone went and made those expensive placards too, without any fact-checking.

Altogether, it smacks of rank incompetence and stupidity across their whole team, not just the boss.

i watched the whole thing now. it wasn’t much different than the first deposition as far as the arguments being made, though they were much more insulting to smith this time around, calling him a dirtbag and interrupting and berating him, comparing him to nixon multiple times and attacking his career.

just like last time they made a big deal out of him subpoenaing the toll records. they also took issue with requests that these subpoenas were kept secret when they felt the law required that they be informed, as smith often attempts to explain was to keep donald trump from interfering with the investigation before being cut off and berated

otherwise didn’t really have very much else to talk about, and absolutely avoided talking about the case at all. the dems talk about that a lot.

the dems did a poor job as well, mostly grandstanding speeches about republican hypocrisy. which, to be fair, is absolutely fair and correct but the point had been made. so it’s kind of boring and smith doesn’t speak a whole lot throughout the hearing. corey booker in particular was horrible, not sure he even asked a single question.

in the deposition smith was often allowed to speak and explain a lot more about the case. if you want to know his actual findings i’d recommend to watch that instead. although the basketball game exchange was very funny.

the most notable moment to me was lindsey grahams sister trying to ask smith about investigating her brother but smith countering that graham was being looked at as a potential witness to help the case at around 3h10m

edit

smith also spends some time defending the fbi agents that were treated unfairly and punished for working the case

there was also this pretty odd moment at the start of thom tillis time slot where he said he used ai to come up with some questions. i wonder how many of these guys asked an ai, or even an si, how to make jack smith look bad?

Nah he didnt use ai to come up with some questions, he checked with ai which earlier prosecutions had a general consensus of a vindictive nature (going back to Obamas first term). Maybe a little silly but that or his continued questioning was quite fair I would say.

you're right, he said he used it to generate research. i take that to mean he used ai to prepare for his questioning, though he may have only made the one query

i agree even though that was silly his line of questioning was one of the best amongst the republicans, a low bar he none the less cleared

Senator Dirtbag is not popular.
Wikipedia: As attorney general, he filed or joined lawsuits seeking to invalidate the Affordable Care Act, challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election (in Texas v. Pennsylvania), and, on 25 occasions, oppose the policies of the Joe Biden

administration. He also sued school districts and municipalities for implementing mask requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic and sued the government of China and Chinese Communist Party for their alleged role in the pandemic.

What a waste. Suing China.
