Interesting. I was of the understanding that it wasn't used professionally anymore by mental health professionals but I stand corrected.

Properly, you're right, they don't. Like, when writing, or in any formal setting, they refer to ASPD. But the old terms are still kind of in their lexicon too, but they use them a little closer to their original meanings.

I've heard my wife and her colleagues banter the terms in semi-technical usage between themselves enough to believe it's fairly universal in their profession.

That refers to treatment, Vixen, not the fact that it remains a formal diagnosis.

Eta: for those with an interest in psychology- counseling/therapy/'yap yap' can help some people on the ASPD spectrum, but not all. Some mofos, you just can't reach. That doesn't invalidate it as a diagnosis. It means some can be helped (if they recognize there is a problem and want to be helped, the former being a major obstacle), and others, meh, not so much.

It is a personality disorder. It is in fact the colloquial term for Antisocial Personality Disorder, which is a mental health diagnosis.

It gets further confusing to Americans, because she says she has a bachleors degree in psychology, which in the States means you are a barista. It's a basically useless degree, you need further grad letters to even call yourself a psychologist.
