Roger Waters promotes 9/11 conspiracy theories...

No no no, what has led you to believe he is a sociopath.

Again, I have explained that I think he's an awful person as well, but you have made very specific claims regarding a mental health diagnosis and specific actions. Saying it is your opinion does nothing to handwave away requests for evidence no matter how much you wish it so.

Except that isn't what happened. You simply lied about what happened. Again.
Sociopathy is not a mental health diagnosis it is a personality trait.

Please don't misquote me. The issue was Prof Ida Westerman reproducing the spalling or twinning in steel samples as seen in high temperature events - such as an explosion - in the laboratory.

No dumber than someone who thinks applying a welding tool to solid steel will melt it.
You think its dumb that applying a welding tool to solid steel will melt it. Your words. You said this. Spare us your excuses about context or whatever. You clearly said in plain English that it’s dumb to think applying a welding tool to solid steel will melt it.

That is a dumb thing to say. What do you think welding is as basic concept if not using a “welding tool” to melt pieces of solid steel to join them together?

Why do I bother, you’re not going to provide an honest, coherent or relevant response.

You can't possibly be serious.

It is a personality disorder. It is in fact the colloquial term for Antisocial Personality Disorder, which is a mental health diagnosis.
Personality disorders are quite distinct from mental health disorders. Your personality is something inherent in you. Mental health disorders cause distress to the individual such that they seek help and can be helped either by therapy or by pharmaceuticals. People with personality traits such as introversion or extroversion rarely need medical help. Sometimes, a person with psychopathological disorders can be distressed enough to seek help, but normally these types are recidivist or violent criminals with little impulse control so to break the pattern of behaviour they can sometimes benefit from CBT - think before they act - but it's really not the same as mental illness.

It’s actually a confusing term with different meanings, some of which overlap. And in fairness to Vixen, it is used colloquially to mean “selfish manipulative ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ with no empathy”.

A personality disorder IS a mental health disorder.

Tell me you don’t know what a personality disorder is without telling me you don’t know what a personality disorder is. This is truly clueless when it comes to what a personality disorder means in psychology.

Don’t you claim to be a psychologist?

In fairness to Vixen, no. She claims she is an accountant with a psych degree.

Which yes, should mean she should know what she is talking about when she patently does not, but it isn't quite the same.

Indeed. It is a colloquial term in and of itself. The layman's term for a specific mental health diagnosis.
Professionals use it too. My wife is a psychologist (a real.one with graduate degrees) and says (extremely broadly) they still use sociopath to describe the kind of nut (to use the technical term) that doesn't understand that there are rules and he has to abide by them. A psychopath knows there are rules and they apply to them, but doesn't care. The psychopath is the 'smarter' one, and the sociopath the more impulsive.

Interesting. I was of the understanding that it wasn't used professionally anymore by mental health professionals but I stand corrected.

Anyone can go through anybody's else's posts and pick out a random sentence in a vicious attempt to cause that person embarrassment or shame (= is the intention). It's pathetic to take a something out of a completely different thread about a totally different topic completely out of context. Yes, nobody likes a know-it-all but please can we stick to the topic of the thread in question. Like I am sure you and Mojo are perfect.

It isn't out of context. You said that welding doesn't melt steel. That's just a dumb statement. There is no context that fixes it.
