Roger Waters promotes 9/11 conspiracy theories...

That is my opinion after looking at the aforeposted videos, including the collection of interviews of Waters recorded over the years. Waters doesn't even hide the duper's delight that crosses his face. For example, when he recounts how he admonished Syd about not wanting to mime for Top of the Pops because 'John Lennon wouldn't', and actually tells Syd that TOTP is what he's been waiting for all these years. At least Syd refused to do it. Then there is when the band didn't bother picking Syd up for a gig. Er, Waters was driving. Well, well.

This guy is a sociopath, no morals, no conscience. It's no wonder he thinks it a gas to support Putin. Of course he claims to miss Syd terribly because he has made a fortune from milking Syd's old material and writing 'heart-warming' tributes to his old pal. Kerching! Kerching! 🤑:moneybag:💲💲💲.

That is my opinion. You are quite free to hold your own.
It's an uniformed, baseless opinion. You have a tendency to invent scenarios in your head and then assume they are true.

But go on, what makes you think that he is a sociopath? What evidence do you have that he is one.

Remember, I think he's a massive twat so don't try your usual trick of pretending that my disagreement means I am a huge fan of his or something.

Please don't misquote me. The issue was Prof Ida Westerman reproducing the spalling or twinning in steel samples as seen in high temperature events - such as an explosion - in the laboratory.
Actually you very explicitly said that you did not believe that people could melt steel with welding equipment.

If Syd hadn't done a Pete Green and got himself lost in his own drug addled brain Pink Floyd would now be an almost forgotten curiosity of the psychedelic era. Just as Fleetwood Mac would have remained a niche blues band if Pete Green hadn't gone to that party in Germany.

Yes Syd was the important in their early stuff, he's credited with most of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn album but only with one track 'Jugband Blues' on A Saucerful of Secrets.
He was a spent force.

Lots of musicians have been kicked out of bands for far less, and far more abruptly than Syd was eased out of Floyd.

"forcing" :ROFLMAO:. That poor pathetic drug fried dude was just practicing for his later on-stage personna.

In the video earlier, Waters himself admits that he got Syd's own brother, who was a doctor of medicine, to visit Syd in person. His brother said Syd was perfectly fine. So the story about Syd being a poor pathetic drug fried dude is just Waters' own exaggerated, concocted story.

We've never heard Syd's side.

It's my personal belief that he's an appalling character. Reasons already set out.

Well that sure explains his neutrally observed and documented on stage antics when he just stood there and didn't/couldn't play. Certainly the antics of a "perfectly fine" individual.

Never heard Syd's side because he wasn't capable of explaining it.

WAIT! Syd Barrett was an equal partner (between six of them in a legally drawn up partnership [he, Waters, Wright, Mason, Jenner and King] styled, 'Blackhill Enterprises'. Waters and Gilmour did not have the legal or moral power to remove Barrett. It reflects badly on Waters' character that he (a) made a conscious decision not to pick up Syd for a gig at Southampton Uni - he was the driver! and (b) replacing him with Gilmour in an underhand way (see a). I wouldn't be surprised if Waters substantially contributed to Syd's nervous breakdown by his manipulative behaviour.

Pete Green, I know the story - and Paul Kossof with Free - but I am not familiar with the legal set up he had there.

Possibly because he was traumatised by his bandmates' behaviour.

He shut down.

Things like a mirrored guitar can add to the atmosphere of a band when performing. They do not give the atmosphere.
The first time I saw Marillion, Steve Rothery played the song "Forgotten Sons" on a black Strat with a mirrored scratch plate that he used to sweep across the audience at a key moment. Very effective as a visual but only because the atmosphere had been created by the music and by Fish’s storytelling talent.

No no no, what has led you to believe he is a sociopath.

Again, I have explained that I think he's an awful person as well, but you have made very specific claims regarding a mental health diagnosis and specific actions. Saying it is your opinion does nothing to handwave away requests for evidence no matter how much you wish it so.
I was pointing out the failure to include full context. Anyone can quote anyone out of context. It is unethical.
Except that isn't what happened. You simply lied about what happened. Again.
