The one on the left seems to be wearing a white hooded robe. The one on the right seems to be hanging.

Eta: the one on the right is of course an arm holding another pair of Converse, but it is shady enough to look like another pair of legs at first glance. They really should have lighted that better

Their stock slide is because they've lost a number of high profile athletes as shoe models recently, nothing got to do with the company's actual performance.

Remember stock price ≠ economic viability, especially in an era like now where every stock market is run on memes.

I think it was John Donohoe nuking the company's relationships with retailers that did it, not Nike's partnerships with Kaepernick and Avery.

There is just one woman in the actual ad, and she's an asian woman wearing a black top and a white skirt. No hood. "The one on the right" is just a pair of shoes she's holding in her hand.

The image being circulated to fan idiots' outrage is just one frame taken out of context from the end of the ad.

Also, the head of marketing at Converse is a black man.

Not that facts ever kept idiot activists from being dutifully offended when they're told they should be offended.

No its not, it doesn't appear in the video of the K popper at all. It was a seperate still taken during the same shoot. The offending image was posted as seen in a Threads post, submitted by Converse.

Dude, it was surely an unintentional image, but the strength of the imagery is there. Just because the ad was not remotely intended to come off that way, doesn't negate how the end result inadvertently appeared.

I agree that they shouldn't be called racist over it (no one involved, from Converse execs on down the line). But it's still fair to say "hey man, are you guys ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ blind or what?"

As I mentioned in the other thread, I'm not saying it was a good move by any means but calling for boycotts, and all that other ◊◊◊◊ is too much. Converse obviously ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up, it wasn't malicious. Fire the social media account manager, whatever brain dead tool snapped that picture, and maybe someone in charge of vetting the images, but after that I think it's safe to move on. I highly doubt Converse\Nike were intentionally alienating one of their key demographics.

I can even excuse the photographer and marketing personel generally. I mean, you get caught up in the vibe of the dancer in the stark surroundings and the lone Converse star light, and you miss the unintended image. Understandable. Would have been nice if someone would've noticed it and piped up "hey guys, you should look at this with cold eyes", but ◊◊◊◊ gets by you sometimes.

They owned it and acted fast. I have no problems with Converse over this at the end of the day.

It doesn't matter. These idiots are so desperate for raycism that they'll travel 6,000 miles to find a video, take a frame of that video, and use that clip as proof that we live in a demon-haunted world.

It still wasn't from the video. It was still from a standalone Converse post.

I mean, I know it sounds better if you make it sound like it was a single frame and couldn't even be seen by the human eye, but none of that is true. It was a big, professionally photographed still featured in a post that Converse put up.
