Roger Waters promotes 9/11 conspiracy theories...

Syd was actually a Roger.

And what in the wide wide world of sports does that have to do with the fact you claimed the following regarding Pink Floyd:
You can't teach me anything; I once fly posted for Blackhill Enterprises.

And then proceeded to repeatedly make the most basic spelling mistake of one of the founders' last name? It would appear we can teach you something, like how to spell the man's frigging name!

Absolute bollocks, as proven by the case Waters took against Pink Floyd.

Waters thought he was Pink Floyd, and he clearly and legally was not. 3 against 1 won, and rightly so.

As David Gilmour said at the time "Bass players are ten a penny" and A Momentary Lapse of Reason proved that correct.

Gilmour also offered an olive branch in the '90s, which was accepted and is why the band was able to play songs from The Wall after. The reason they're now again estranged is entirely because Waters is an antisemite, conspiracist dickhead.
Guy Pratt was bass player with Pink Floyd from 97 to 22 when they packed it in.
That's 15 years longer than Waters was with them.
Waters was undoubtedly the moving force up until he left, but Guy is a far better bassist.

Lots of people in that era took loads of psychedelic drugs without becoming basket cases.
This is like arguing that a particular person isn't an alcoholic because there are other people who drink regularly without it becoming an addiction. And no one is saying that Barrett permanently became a "basket case" through his excessive (even by the standards of others in the '60s counterculture scene) use of psychedelics, only that while he was doing so he was unable to function as a musician, either writing or performing.

And you still haven't provided evidence for the supposedly bad treatment he got from his band-mates, who, as already mentioned, made sure he continued to get the royalties from the first two albums that supported him financially.

Barratt was clearly an undiagnosed schizophrenic, IMV (Brian Wilson was also obviously mentally ill).
You are even more clearly completely unqualified to make that assertion. Surely you've noticed that the seriousness with which others regard your abilities is an inverse function of the seriousness with which you regard them yourself. Again, Barrett's own family have stated that he was not mentally ill. He didn't spend the rest of his life as a "basket case". He may have been bitter about the way his tenure with the band ended, but he was the one who chose to trip balls so often during that period that he couldn't function in that role at all.

And, just out of curiosity, how are you at diagnosing narcissistic personality disorder?

Maybe the drugs triggered it off and pushed him over the edge, who knows?
You certainly don't know.

but Barratt was 'arty' before then: typical art student with eccentric tastes in decor and arty/trendy clothing, always a little weird...
As were all the members of Pink Floyd. They were all a part of that London counterculture scene.

We can't blame the band for snubbing Barratt because after all kerching-kerching super group fame is sure to turn most people's head and 'sell out'.
Yeah, they said "let's get rid of Syd so we can make commercial pop albums like Ummagumma and Atom Heart Mother". 😄

To give Waters credit, he did quit Pink Floyd in 1985 because he thought it 'creatively finished'. So now he and Dave Gilmour are completely estranged.
He didn't quit Pink Floyd, he unilaterally announced that he was ending it, like it was entirely his property. The other three didn't agree. I think his estrangement from all three other members has more to do with him being an ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ than anything else.

Your post is kind of weird. I can't see half of it as you have blocked out some text, and when highlighted, all I see are insults. How am I at diagnosing narcissistic personality disorder? Well, when I was a kid, the playground taunt was, 'Go back to Shenley.*' I note, the modern equivalent insult for people who you dislike or who disagree with one, is to call them 'a narcissist'. It's what we psychologists called 'pop psychology'. Look, it is all right to have a different perspective on something cultural.

What do you know about London counterculture?

*This was a mental hospital in Colney Hatch.

Uhhhh, "we psychologists"? Did I miss something? I'm pretty sure @Vixen claimed to be an accountant, not a psychologist.
She became an accountant after completing a psychology degree, which makes her, apparently, a psychology postgraduate.

Can we quit name-calling and get back to the topic of Roger Waters and his 9/11 CT support? Here's some background from wiki on how Waters' current values might have evolved.

Background (snipped for relevance)

His father, the son of a coal miner and Labour Party activist, was a schoolteacher, a devout Christian, and a Communist Party member.

In the early years of the Second World War, Waters's father was a conscientious objector who drove an ambulance during the Blitz.[6] He later changed his stance on pacifism, joined the Territorial Army and was commissioned into the 8th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, as a second lieutenant on 11 September 1943.[8] He was killed five months later on 18 February 1944 at Aprilia, during the Battle of Anzio, when Roger was five months old.

At 15, Waters was chairman of the Cambridge Youth Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (YCND),[16] having designed its publicity poster and participated in its organisation.

By early 1966, [Syd] Barrett was Pink Floyd's frontman, guitarist, and songwriter.[30] He wrote or co-wrote all but one track of their debut LP The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, released in August 1967.[31] Waters contributed the song "Take Up Thy Stethoscope and Walk" (his first sole writing credit) to the album.[32] By late 1967, Barrett's deteriorating mental health and increasingly erratic behaviour[33] rendered him "unable or unwilling"[34] to continue in his capacity as Pink Floyd's songwriter and lead guitarist.[31]

In early March 1968, to discuss the band's future, Barrett, Mason, Waters, and Wright met with the band's managers, Peter Jenner and Andrew King, of the rock music management company they had all founded, Blackhill Enterprises. Barrett agreed to leave Pink Floyd, and the band "agreed to Blackhill's entitlement in perpetuity" regarding "past activities".[35] Their new manager, Steve O'Rourke, made a formal announcement about the departure of Barrett and the arrival of Gilmour in April 1968.

Waters' current political views:

Waters incorporates political themes in his work, many of them considered radical. He supports socialism, has defended Vladimir Putin and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and has been ruled by a court to have made defamatory comments.[2][3] Waters is a prominent supporter of Palestine in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and Gazan genocide. He supports the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, and describes Israel's treatment of Palestinians as apartheid. Elements of his live show and some of his comments, such as his likening of Israel to Nazi Germany, have drawn accusations of antisemitism, which Waters has dismissed as a conflation with anti-Zionism. Waters has been dropped, banned or sanctioned by a wide variety of entities in reaction to his comments, including Major League Baseball, BMG Rights Management, the German city of Frankfurt, multiple Argentine hotels, and the country of Poland. Waters has contributed to financing a land deal that returned 4.5 acres of private property to the Shinnecock Nation. The land includes the Shinnecock Nation's ancestral burial grounds. wikipedia

So, yes, Waters is a bit of a ◊◊◊◊ supporting Putin and perhaps lacks good taste and sensitivity, but I can't see that his 9/11 beliefs are 'anti-Semitic'.

"Name calling"? Are you serious? You are the one who posted "we psychologists", so how exactly is it "name calling" when the name you are being called on is a name you claimed for yourself?

If you click back, you'll see the post I was responding to. Everything has a context.

For the avoidance of doubt, a poster asked; And, just out of curiosity, how are you at diagnosing narcissistic personality disorder?

To which, I responded, How am I at diagnosing narcissistic personality disorder? So you weren't complaining about being called an accountant, which (for context) was what you were described as in the post immediately above your complaint about name-calling? It wasn't possible to "click back" because you hadn't quoted the post you were responding to.

I had no idea Smock perceived the word to be an insult.

Vixen is whatever suits her weird narrative at the time she posts, Nailing jello to the wall best describes trying to get a consistent narrative from that one.

She became an accountant after completing a psychology degree, which makes her, apparently, a psychology postgraduate.

@Vixen, the above posts were immediately between two posts by you. The first post by you said nothing about name calling. The second post by you started with you imploring the group "Can we quit name-calling and get back to the topic of Roger Waters and his 9/11 CT support?", which would lead one to assume the name calling took place sometime between your two posts.

So, pray tell, which one of the above quoted posts were you referring to when you requested an end to the name calling, and exactly what name do you think you were called?

Perhaps my trusted interpreter @Mojo can explain it to you. He's my communication go-between.

“They needed a Pearl Harbor, but who’s the ‘they’? Israel possibly had something to do with it. Elements possibly in the United States government,” he said.

Waters is appearing at a conference where the theme is "Israel did 9-11":

For the record, Syd Barrett never said anything about 9-11. Probably because he's not a jerk.
