But that puts the UK on the edge of the world - we may fall off!
Half of them would be named Drumpf. Otherwise yes.
Close, but not enough Americas by half.
Where's the because? Why do you assume that this is the one and only reason that the UN doesn't treat SSA problems with the seriousness they deserve? Why is your argument based in the idea that there is one sole cause for the change?I'm sure they are asking. As I understand it, the entire complaint of the Togolese is that UN agencies and member states don't treat SSA problems with the seriousness those problems deserve, because Africa looks relatively insignificant on the sui generis world map of our time.
Why is your argument based in the idea that there is one sole cause for the change?
Nah. We favor this newfangled contraption called a globe. And Google Earth for the digitally inclined. Is "someone" going to lobby for a new version to be called the "American Projection"?
(Sorry, that thing that gripes me infests every thought nowadays.)
I'm surprised you've said this after just making two posts in a row.I'm legitimately surprised that there are 167 posts on this. From people who use the internet regularly, and who probably haven't used a paper map in decades.

In the Togolese complaint. Read the article.Where's the because?
It's the one the Togolese cited, as justification for this rigamarole. I assume there are many others, including several that are probably more worthy of attention. Why do you assume that this is the one and only reason that the UN doesn't treat SSA problems with the seriousness they deserve?
The argument here is from the Togolese, and it's not that there's one sole cause, it's that this is the cause they cited. Why is your argument based in the idea that there is one sole cause for the change?
I always use a paper map when tramping in the hills, or when sailing. Unlike GPS there's no risk of Russian jamming or battery failure. Electronic charts with GPS are OK, particularly to see if you are drifting off your planned heading.I'm legitimately surprised that there are 167 posts on this. What do you think GPS does? How often do you use the charts instead of the GPS?
Or Rome.Personally I've never agreed with moving the centre of the world away from Jerusalem...
Is it?The map is NOT more accurate ! No map is accurate. There are just different things to prioritize. Angles, distances or sizes. You can't have all 3. Mercator is not less accurate. It is less accurate in sizes. It is more accurate in shapes and directions.
Where is the UN telling schools which maps to use?Schools don't need UN to tell them what maps to use.
