Yup. I like it when I follow someone for something completely different and find that they are good elsewhere. The outdoor writer, Chris Townsend is similar, and recently I was presently surprised to see the US Science Fiction writer, David Brin being in favour of climate science and generally against the right... Which is different from many US SF writers (looking at you Larry Niven etc)

A county councillor has become the first politician in the country to defect from Reform UK to the Labour party.
Nigel Swales was elected to Lancashire County Council in May 2025 and represents Skelmersdale East.
He said his decision to join Labour came after "growing concerns about Reform's ability to deliver at a local level."
Swales said he had seen "first-hand" how "Reform simply doesn't have a serious plan". The BBC has contacted Reform UK for a response
