Apollo 11 Moon Landing Revisited: Hoax ~vs~ Debunk

Please read this wikipedia page carefully re the Hill Sphere. Then consider the additional logistical difficulties facing the Apollo crew in the 'live tv' transmission.

There’s line of sight communication available between the earth and moon. No satellite in a “geopositioned” (whatever that means), geostationary or selenostationary orbit is needed for the transmission.

Please explain why one is needed.

Let's do baby steps. Everything in the universe is spinning away. Kemo sabe?

Sorry, playing silly word games is really not something that interests me.
Asking you to explain/clarify the meaning of the pseudoscientific terms you have repeatedly used, is not playing word games.

The idea of a “geopositioned” satellite in the context of the discussion is meaningless to everyone else because you refuse to explain what you mean by the term. It’s not a valid term to describe any sort of orbit. So what do you mean by it, and why do you continue to use pseudoscientific terms like this, and why do you refuse to explain what you mean by it?

I have explained several times but on the assumption you really can't understand it and are not being obtuse, what do you notice the Earth doing here?

What logistical difficulties?

You keep ignoring this question because, of course, you have no idea what you're talking about. There is no need for a satellite relay when sending signals between the earth and moon, especially when the antennae at the earth end are enormously powerful.

Since the moon itself librates only slightly over the course of 28 days, whereas the earth continusly rotates by 15°/hour, having a satellite at a fixed coordinate relative to the moon isn't going to change anything regarding communications paths. The problem is still solved by the use of gimbals that slew to track a target. How do you think radio telescopes, or optical telescopes for that matter, track objects as the earth rotates?

No. You have never explained what difficulty the Apollo astronauts would have had in beaming a TV signal to earth. (1) Point antenna at Earth (2) Transmit signal. (3) There is no point 3. That's it.

Why does the Earth appear to be moving across the sky in that cartoon? The Earth should be essentially stationary when viewed from the Moon. You know that, right?

The creator of the animation clearly does not know that. They show the Earth crossing the lunar sky at what I very roughly calculated to be <edit> 7° per day. So why did you choose their animation and what use are they?

It's singing a song!

Seriously, Vixen, another crappy AI generated cartoon?

The earth doesn't move across the lunar sky like that. The moon is tidally locked, and always keeps the same face toward earth. Surely you've noticed this, yes? Because of the moon's elliptical orbit, its orbital speed varies throughout its orbit, which causes libration. This means that the earth only appears to move back and forth across a ~7½° arc over a 28 day period. But it never rises or sets, unless you're near the limb of the side facing earth, in which case it will slowly bob above and below the horizon, again over a 28 day period.

The earth rotates at half the rate of the hour hand on a twelve hour clock, so it's not spinning like you show in your inaccurate AI animation.

This is a spherical bearing for a radio telescope, which allows it to track objects as the earth rotates those 15°/hour. If the problem you imagine was real, then light and radio astronomy wouldn't be possible.

ETA: AstroVix seems to post a lot of AI generated ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. I wonder if it's even really a person, or just a bot.

You still have yet to explain what you think those logistical difficulties are, or how having a satellite in a particular orbit would solve them.

I wonder if NASA paid anybody, such as Westinghouse or RCA, to develop equipment capable of handling such challenges?

I notice more AI slop. AI slop which doesn’t accurately show the behaviour of the earth as seen from the moon. What’s your point?

Maybe leave out the AI generated stuff in future, it’s really not doing you any favours. Assuming you can recognise it as AI slop.
