Trump's Second Term

Donald J. Trump ReTruthed

Schoenlaw
@Schoenlaw
Our President gave Iran every possible chance to finally reform its conduct, give up its role as the no. 1 sponsor of global terrorism and join with productive nations.
He warned them of the consequences of continuing on their lawless barbaric path.
But their “leaders” know only lawless terrorist behavior and now our President is delivering on his warnings.
That is how true Statesmanship operates!!! @realDonaldTrump
His impeachment defense lawyer approves. Stop the presses. Probably just buttering him up for some more work post November.

How did you measure their no.1 ranking as a sponsor of global terrorism? How much global terrorism have they sponsored this week? Who else make up the top ten?

Or are you in fact just trotting out a bunch of lazy slogans about Iran being the baddies? Because that sure is what it looks like.

@realDonaldTrump

We are grateful for the Decision of the United States Supreme Court. The Military/Ballroom Complex being built on the hallowed grounds of the White House, which is so vital for National Security, will be THE GREATEST OF ITS KIND! It is something that Presidents have wanted for 150 years, and that the Military has been seeking for the last 100 years. Their wish will soon be fulfilled!
Construction is under budget and ahead of schedule. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Uh huh, under budget. Remember when the estimate was $400m? And when there was no taxpayer funding? ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ liar.

Trump on $400M ballroom price tag: ‘It will be magnificent, safe and secure!’
“The only reason the cost has changed is because, after deep rooted studies, it is approximately twice the size, and a far higher quality, than the original proposal, which would not have been adequate to handle the necessary events, meetings, and even future Inaugurations,” the president wrote Wednesday morning on Truth Social.

I wonder how the media got hold of them. In fact, having read them, I wonder if they are fake.
It's hard for me to feel sorry for her. She's an adult with an adult crush who maybe went a little overboard with her letters. She deserves all the unwanted attention she's getting because she has such a powerful hold over him without much ability besides pandering.

As noted before, it's not hard to believe that someone would write such things to Trump. Trump's weakness to flattery is well known and exploited all the time. As for how they got spread to the media? As in the first Trump Administration, the people that Trump and co pick to put into power are hardly of good character, to put it nicely. This relatively sudden burst of attention on her rather reeks of infighting and political ploy to me. She may have a crush, she may not. It barely matters either way, I think.

I should have said, they are a selection of comments from various post threads on X

Always better to add links for clarity when quoting.

They also were quite eager to post the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop.

I also seem to remember republicans also being eager to get their hands on Christine Ford's personal papers.

By "Some effort" do you mean "token effort"?

The DoJ made more effort to cover up mentions of Donald Trump than they did of Epstein victims.

Much more effort. Also, it's perhaps worth a reminder that the "principles" in the mouths of most Republican politicians seem to inevitably be nothing more than opportunistic facades, broken the moment they're truly put to the test.

As long as we're diagnosing, I'll go with sociopath:

No empathy: They cannot understand or care about how other people feel.
Constant lying: They use deceit, conning, and manipulation to get what they want.
Impulsive choices: They act without planning or thinking about future results.
Aggression and anger: They are prone to physical fights, irritability, and threats.
No guilt or remorse: They do not feel sorry for hurting or stealing from others.
Disregard for rules: They routinely break laws, social norms, or workplace duties.
Superficial charm: They can appear friendly or witty to trick people
As another reminder, malignant narcissism includes many sociopathic traits and the relevant bits of the megalomania also fall under it. There's good reason why malignant narcissism has long been the usual go to casual diagnosis.

Reporter: Your move on beef imports is upsetting ranchers.

Trump: We want to get the beef prices down so we will get them down a little bit. That is what people want, that is what the voters want, and that is what I want. The ranchers are great. They are my people. I love the ranchers, they've done a fantastic job. But they admit that we need a little help in order to get the prices down, so that is what we're doing

Mmm. Here's a slightly different take that I don't think has really been poked at much here and deserves much more recognition, just because.

The truly damaging Natalie Harp story is hiding in plain sight

Trumpworld couldn’t care less if people think Trump’s cheating for the 1,900th time. As his power declines, that’s advantage more than insult. What worries them is the image of an 80 year old man wildly dependent on a clinically fan-girlish 30-something whom he appears to cling to as a kind of human emotional support blanket as his faculties and political power fade. When she was living at Bedminster she couldn’t be as ready at hand as she believed he needed. So she moved into the women’s locker room. When a car in the entourage didn’t make her available enough, she chose to ride crumpled in the trunk of his SUV. That’s image-debilitating, disturbing, uncomfortable to look at it — not so much because her troubled personality happily embraced it but because he was so in need of it.
What has made the Harp story so fascinating—and so damaging for the White House—is how profoundly weird the relationship appears to be. There is nothing sexually suggestive about stashing an aide in a car trunk to keep her close.

But Republicans would much rather defend a sex scandal than explain that.

Yeah, I fully admit that I've not followed Harp's record closely at all (because it's honestly little more than a small sideshow compared to the actually impactful things), but seriously, riding in the trunk of a car to stay available? Moving into a shower room? That's the kind of detail that seems like it should have been emphasized all along. Far more than the letters.

An 80-year-old man sleeping with a 35-year-old woman? His supporters can work with that.

An 80-year-old president who apparently can’t function without his “human binky” constantly within reach? That’s something else entirely.

Yeah. That's a very, very different and far more meaningful take than this spin that keeps going on about Harp having a crush.

ETA: Turns out Doris is a man (who knew?). However, also African American, so again, surprised Trump is OK with that.
Hmmmm, I thought everyone knew Doris Miller was a cook on a warship during WWII. :) But I'm a Navy vet, so I know who most of the submarines and capitol ships are named after, although I did have to look up who William Bates, George Lipscomb and L. Mendel (efing SOB) Rivers were.

I am not sure if "copyright" applies here, since these were not published works.

You might have a point.

On the other hand, its hard to have much sympathy for anyone in the republican Klan given the way they have made Fauchi's diary public.
Trump appointees are scanning all kinds of data to use as weapons against people they don't like. Lisa Cook, for example.
