Trump's Second Term

Now politicians started quibbling about Medicare for All and Universal Healthcare. What's the problem? If we don't get dental care, we will still be able to identify MAGA folks with the bad teeth and bad hearing. They don't want to hear but Fox News anyway.

I'm ... intruiged ... by Trump's 'We're going to claim the Strait of Hormuz' - does he just mean the water, or some of the land? Surely all the land is already claimed by other countries. Is there anywhere else is the world where a country just claims rights over a stretch of water with no real connection to their own territory?
I seem to recall from history that it has happened before. Depending on who was writing the history it tended to be concealed under terms like "war, invasion, piracy," and other implications that it was somehow wrong. But everything wrong is right again now.

Finally, a network with a little backbone. Hopefully this will inspire other networks/law firms/universities to follow suit. Pun somewhat intended.

Disney sues Trump’s FCC over ‘retaliatory campaign’ against ABC

On Tuesday, the media company filed a lawsuit in federal court alleging that Trump’s FCC is violating its First Amendment rights.

The administration “has waged a retaliatory campaign against ABC for a single reason: it disapproves of what ABC broadcasts,” the lawsuit filed in DC District Court alleges.

The legal action comes as the FCC investigates the ABC talk show “The View” and mounts an unusual challenge to the licenses held by ABC stations.

Nashville sues Trump administration over attempt to withhold first-responder grants to force election changes

Nashville filed suit against the federal government for attempting to make changes to how local elections are administered as a condition Department of Homeland Security grants that the city uses for first responders...

The lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in the D.C. Circuit Monday morning, alleges the grant system, administered by FEMA, is a violation of separation of powers as well as the authority of states to administer elections enshrined in the Constitution.

“FEMA has no authority to impose those conditions — not under its governing statute and not under the Constitution,” the suit argues. “Congress authorized FEMA to help jurisdictions protect critical infrastructure from terrorist and cyberattacks. It did not authorize FEMA to decide who may vote, how ballots must be counted, or how states maintain their voter rolls"

Interesting.

Former Fox News personality and all-around macho-man Pete Hegseth wants to be your next president, according to officials familiar with the self-proclaimed Secretary of War’s thinking.

Those sources, who spoke anonymously in order to be frank about the Trump Cabinet member’s ambitions, told the Washington Post that Hegseth’s trip to Iowa on Monday suggests he may very well have his sights set on the White House. The Defense Secretary, 46, headed out to stump for GOP Rep. Zach Nunn in the battleground state, where presidential hopefuls have historically tested their mettle.
