Trump wants to reduce capability of newest aircraft carrier.

Or, if you want a really successful carrier-based aircraft, credited with sinking over a megaton of enemy shipping...

And most of the time it wouldn't even need a catapult.

One of the most successful anti submarine aircraft of the war.

Outlasted it's replacement the Albacore even though that was a better aircraft
It did it by having a dedicated factory producing it whereas when the Albacore contract finished production switched to other designs.
Swordfishes were turned out up to the end of the war in their AS version because the dedicated factory couldn't be switched to anything else so it was just kept going going.

Swordfishes were also ideal for use on the small Escort Carriers that had limited deck size and hanger space.

Albacore has acquired a misplaced reputation as being unpopular and unreliable due to the continued production of the Swordfish.

It's the same reason the Grumman Wildcats were kept in production when the Hellcat came along. Their dedicated factory was taken over by General Motors, and they were kept in production when Grumman switched to Hellcat production.
Like the Swordfish they could usually take off from a carrier without using a catapult.
One of my favourite aircraft

Kermit Weeks has a good playlist on his Wildcat.

They called it the Stringbag because it could carry so many different things at the same time [1], but even for the Swordfish I think a gold plated ballroom was a bit much

[1] The word 'groceries' may have been used, even though Trump hadn't invented it back then.

Has he issued instructions to return to coal-fired propulsion yet?

Coal is awesome! (And those coal mines need a market. Win/win!)
New-fangled coal??! What's wrong with wood-fired ships! Good enough for Noah then it's good enough for Heggie!

But why stop at wood! Let's go back to the days of sail! When ships were propelled by wind!

Wait a sec...

Wind power?? NOOO! That's woke!!
