Actually, it was the border cops who wiped the phone, not the owner. He just gave them an access password, they did the rest. That it happened to be the "under duress wipeout" password is irrelevant. If they had not tried to access his phone, this would never have happened. ;)
 
I tend to take things seriously. But I remain very distressed by senior US politicians spouting scientific nonsense to attack Fauci.

I can get that Fauci provided expert advice and the executive acted on that advice. Fauci may or may not have given the best advice in retrospect. With the state of knowledge at the time I personally think Fauci gave reasonable advice.

The crap about vaccines, ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine is scientifically untrue.

Comments on origin of covid, although we must always accept uncertainty , Suggesting funded gain of function research in Wuhan, for no apparent reason by the Chinese government

You don't get such complaints in the UK, because the candidates or their representatives can watch the whole process except for the casting of the votes, which are done on paper with a pencil, and put in the ballot box by the voter. Voting machines are inherently less transparent in the vote counting.

Yes, in the US we do not do things the way the Europeans do. And I am not sure the Europaen model would work in the US.

It isn't particularly recent. Not at all recent, in fact. Climate change? Evolution? Republicans have been denying them for decades.
Trump isn't the cause of Republican insanity. He's the result.
