I'm slightly surprised nobody has claimed that because nazism isn't fascism it is ok.It won't be long until MAGA folks here argue that apartheid isn't fascism, therefore it is ok.

President Donald Trump’s attack dog atop the FCC, Brendan Carr, garnered lots of attention on Saturday for threatening the licenses of local broadcasters over news coverage he deemed to be “fake.”
Carr has very little power to follow through. Television stations are not at serious risk of being banned from the airwaves because of Carr’s crusade.
However, his comments still carry weight since Carr represents the US government and advances Trump’s policy agenda. The administration keeps taking extraordinary actions and applying extreme pressure to crack down on news content and entertainment that the president dislikes.
Thus, critics called Carr’s latest threat “authoritarian” and “unconstitutional,” and some suggested that he did it for attention, to publicly pressure local stations licensed by the FCC.
“The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.”
Regan would be a communist if he ran on his 84 platform todayDidn't Reagan do away with the public-interest mandate in 1987?
After all, up until the 1960's in the US it wasn't! There are plenty of people still around who would argue that desegregation was statist if not downright fascist. But it may take a while to get people comfortable with it again, but it likely helps that all sorts of brown are becoming black enough. Terminology helps too. You know what low IQ means! Make social justice a phrase you spit with contempt, woke a dirty epithet, diversity a sin, systemic bias a weapon against the innocent. Paint it over in the halls and forbid it in the documents, sanitize the museums and cleanse the colleges and smear the dissidents in the press, and and it can all become a kind of generalized "problem" that needs a solution. It won't be long until MAGA folks here argue that apartheid isn't fascism, therefore it is ok.

Remember he was a big fan of Trump.Regan would be a communist if he ran on his 84 platform today
"Never ascribe to malice that which can adequately be explained by stupidity." So I would say your effect can be caused by either a deliberate strategy or simple incompetence Or even a combination of both, where the malicious take advantage of their incompetent predecessors.A facist strategy. Create an environment which stimulates criminal activity, like poverty, racism and tribalism, and easy access to guns. Point out the criminality and claim that they are the only ones that can fight the rising crime rates.
That's fine except where there's evidence of malice. And there is."Never ascribe to malice that which can adequately be explained by stupidity." Yeah, some groups have lost the benefit of the doubtThat's fine except where there's evidence of malice. And there is.
In addition to what was said in the posts above, I believe Trump isn't behind the strategies of facism. His handlers are the ones pulling the strings, with Putin and Miller being the chief puppeteers."Never ascribe to malice that which can adequately be explained by stupidity." Sort of, but I think Trump is as fascist as anyone, and his handlers strategize because he's too stupid to do so and they're too unappealing to do it themselves. He's the container for their ambitions, but too self-unaware to realize he's an empty vessel. In addition to what was said in the posts above, I believe Trump isn't behind the strategies of facism. True enough, and we needn't bicker about the details.Oh yea, I am not denying Trumps' facist fantasies, just his ability to come up with any strategies to do.. anything. He's a spoiled child, that has always gotten what he wants.
