The behaviour of UK police officers.

My posts followed yours. I was replying to you. However in one post I briefly misread the name of the poster. That's all. I corrected the mistake.

OK, then. How do you infer, from a post that has the form:

When A happens, population P say X
When B happens, population P say Y

that the poster is denying that both A and B happen? I'm pretty much stating outright that sometimes police officers mistreat black and Asian people and sometimes mistreat white people. How do you get from there to "You seriously think both things can't be going on at the same time" when I've explicitly stated that they are?

OK, from what you say now, we would appear to be in agreement. More, I think Darat is absolutely right about the longstanding and widespread racism (the traditional sort) in the police, and that this has not been stamped out despite some quite vigorous efforts. But at the same time, these very efforts, well documented to be designed not to produce colour-blind policing but to skew the bias in the opposite direction, are leading to some situations where police (and the criminal justice system in general) are treating ethnic minority offenders with kid gloves, and sometimes coming down hard on white people in the process.

The first problem is undoubtedly still the more prevalent one, which is why looking at statistics isn't going to show up the second.

In the Birmingham case I have literally no idea whether race was a factor in the appalling law enforcement choices. It was simply dreadful policing regardless of what colour anyone was.

There is a reckoning coming for these pig scum and no number of hi viz jackets, batons and pepper spray are going to save you.

You deserve everything that’s coming.

Perhaps for you but for those pushing the story it was the whole point of pushing the story.

"re leading to some situations where police (and the criminal justice system in general) are treating ethnic minority offenders with kid gloves, and sometimes coming down hard on white people in the process."

As I said earlier there will always be exceptions and outliers but that does not point to any systematic failure in our CJ system. The undercover reporting just recently showed that none of the "woke training" was affecting policing on the "frontline", and it would be truly astonishing if it had.

Massive quantities of photographic evidence that frontline policing has been extensively influenced by "woke". There has been at least one court case challenging it.

Ahem. I think some cops act with bigotry against white people. I think it's a serious problem when that is allowed to happen with little or no pushback from their employers.

I'm pretty ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ sure I'm allowed to say that rather than complaining with dogwhistles, and so are you.

You are also allowed to have the opinion that it's an overarching systemic problem and/or deep rot in policing policy, and others are allowed to disagree. In case you were wondering.

Lozza - straight outta Harrow! Public School Boys With Attitude! Gangsta! Gangsta!

It used to be (well, still is) the Left wing activists who had problems with the police, and the right wing was fully in support of the Thin Blue Line, and Laura Norder. What happened?

Laura pissed in their pint?

Dunno, it's baffling.

Mebbe something to do with Yaxley Lennon being repeatedly arrested and prosecuted on account of being too stupid to not crim? Many other right wing rioters being done for not being able to stop themselves rioting? I mean every time I went on some sort of demo or march in the late '70s and early '80s we burned London to the ground several times - I personally destroyed Nelson's Column twice - so I get that it is impossible to stop yourself rioting....

Don't forget the police's woke predjudice against nice middle class Tory women who call for men, women and children to be burnt alive.
