I really really hate to agree with Stubby McBonespurs, but I really think a rent freeze is a bad idea.
It may be a popular policy, but basic economics/supply and demand curves: reducing the price of something artificially will reduce supply. Current tenants will love the rent freeze... future tenants will find it harder to find a place to live.
Yes, I recognize that there are people who are truly struggling to make ends meet, and they should be helped. But an alternative (such as income supplements) would be a better way to go.

From what I'm understanding future tenants, or any tenants at all, are finding it hard to get a place to live. I'm not sure if one thing is better than the other in your post. I'm not educated in economics but I know that if it can help people then anything better than what is currently going on is going to be better. The cost of living is insane. If freezing the rent will help people in the short term while a longer term plan is worked on then I'm all for it.

If I had children being affected by this, I'd be furious. It is NOT the role of a public school to push any religion and violates the First Amendment. They hypocrisy of these so-called 'defenders of the Constitution' is staggering.
