Why shouldn't it take as long as it does? Do you not want the proper vetting of mail-in ballots? Would you prefer the GOP's preference that we give people only a few hours a day at a single location where you may have to wait for hours in line? Do you think we should just accept all of the mail-in ballots without checking signatures, etc?

A more likely scenario is that Democrats will be seated in congress, and then Trump will just continue to act unilaterally (as he has been doing much of the time anyways), ignoring congress.

But the President cannot spend a dime of money unless it has been appropriated by the US COngress..and all appropration bills start in the house.
A democratic congress could make things a lot tougher for DOnnie. Don't forget, he has not had any real oppostion from congress so far.

However, as we have seen in the past, Trump is not above "reassigning" money to pay for his pet projects even if congress hasn't allocated the funds. Witness for example in his first term Trump taking money from military projects (you know, the military, the thing republicans claim to love) in order to fund his border wall, under the cover of declaring it a "national emergency". Or more recently his plans to fund coal usage using money previously allocated for green energy.

Yes, congress can fight him on this, and the result will probably be a court case that will take months/years to resolve. But it will still cause chaos.

California is a very large state and a very large percentage of them vote by mail. California, unlike, say Florida allows for ballots to arrive up to 7 days after election day as long as the postmark is dated on or before election day. By comparison anything that arrives after election day in Florida is discarded. In addition, CA allows for provisional ballots. Meanwhile, while FL starts processing (but not counting) their mail-in ballots before the polls close. Florida allows mail-in ballots to be 'fixed' for up to two days while CA allows up to 4 weeks.

In short, CA is designed for accessibility while FL is designed for speed. I personally am of the opinion that voting should be as simple and accessible to the voters and not based on speed or dependent on the USPS being absolutely punctual.

It has nothing to do with CA being a blue state and frankly that's a pretty petty and desperate remark to make.

Current projection is the Democrats pick up the four seats needed (North Carolina, Maine, Ohio, and Alaska). However, if you look at Polymarket's current betting on Senate Control, the Democrats are only about 43%. Sounds like an opportunity, but keep in mind that if we assume that Polymarket's current odds for those states is correct (84%, 65.5%, 55% and 61.5%, same order as above), then the Democrats odds of running the table are the product of those numbers or about 18.6%. That makes it sound unlikely, but keep in mind, these are not independent events; if Sherrod Brown wins in Ohio, it is very likely for reasons that apply elsewhere.

I have never said that. The gop is infinenlty worse then the Democrats. I am voting a straigh Democratic ticket in November. I just don;t think the Democrats are pure and without flaws, that;s all.
