Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

A lot has changed, with planes being built to be unstoppable - the F-35 were considered to be impossible to shoot down. Iran was supposed to be defenseless after two wars targeting air defenses continuously.
And the Radar Plane was supposed to be out of reach of Iran.
Just by pricetag, the cost of the planes lost would have bought a lot more planes in previous wars, so a comparison is tricky.

I guess the main point is that the US thinking on waging war primarily through air superiority has been proven to be deeply flawed.
US Air Power has proven to be not as invulnerable as the current doctrine requires.

The latest crash strongly suggests that it's time to retire the B52 for good.

i think it must be considered that the us basically fired or demoted anyone who wasn't deemed loyal enough to trump personally, resulting in a chain of command where most of the big picture decision makers are morons. i would assume that effects performance.

🚨 BREAKING: THE IRAN DEAL IS DONE — AND ALL THE URANIUM GETS DESTROYED 🚨

Buried a SKYSCRAPER deep… and the U.S. is the ONLY country that can dig it out 👀

NO enrichment. NO sunset clause. NO money up front — they PERFORM, then get PAID 💰

Gulf allies just pledged $300 BILLION to rebuild the wreckage 💥

80% of Iran's military DECIMATED — this could be Trump's CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT 🇺🇸

Somebody should tell Watters that he's not supposed to be cheering Iran.

Not happy

Trump: "Without me, there would be no Israel ... I've had a great relationship with Bibi, but now Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon ... I'm not happy with the way Israel has handled themselves with Lebanon and Hezbollah."

Syria would do a better job.

Trump criticizes Netanyahu and Israel: "Israel has been fighting Hezbollah too long and too many people are being killed. You don't need to knock down an apartment every time you're looking for somebody. I suggested to Israel to let Syria take care of Hezbollah, because too be honest with you, I think they do a better job."

Obama

Trump: "I want to mention Iran. We appreciate the relationship we've had over a short period of time with Iran. We're not investing any money. I have the right to if we want, but we're not investing any money. We didn't pay for it like Obama did. He paid billions of dollars."

By who? Not the US military. They never thought that. The F-35 is supposed to be harder to shoot down, and it is. But nothing is impossible to shoot down. Nothing ever will be.

It's a little premature to conclude anything from the crash before we even know what caused it.

Either fact matter, or they don’t. If they do, get them right. I’m not sure why you have a problem with that. TGZ didn’t.

I don’t have a problem with it. I’m laughing at your desperate attempt to find something to be right about in this thread.

But since you like facts so much, here’s another one for you: This war has been a disaster for the Trump administration and appears to ending in abject humiliation for them, if it’s actually ending at all.

Q: How can we make sure that the Strait of Hormuz is open in the future?

TRUMP: Have a United States with a strong president. That's the only way you can do it, I guess. The agreements for bad people don't mean anything.

Wasn't he after regime change?

Trump: "This agreement is about one thing -- that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. Never ever ever. The rest of it is irrelevant, frankly."

We lost over 2700 aircraft in Korea. We lost over 10,000 aircraft in Vietnam. You aren't a little bit wrong about those, you're laughably wrong.

More recently, the coalition lost 75 aircraft during the 1st Gulf war, most of them US. And why the "first 2 years of his term" qualifier? H.W. Bush lost more aircraft during the 2nd Gulf war, but that started during the third year of his first term rather than the second year of his second term. Why is that distinction important?
Not that it makes any difference to the point but US aircraft losses in Vietnam were less than 9,000.

Looking closely, the "Peace" is just another extension of the Ceasefire, this time with the US no longer blocking Iranian ships. Banks will allow Iran access to some of its funds without risk of sanctions.
Iran won't attack ships, the Gulf States or Israel.
And Iran will restate that it does not seek to build a nuke, ever. It might even promise not to touch the ruins of last year's bombing where uranium might be stored.

Israel is not supposed to attack Iran or Lebanon - which is the most likely point of failure.

Wise words. The strait only closed under one president, so whichever character traits define that type of president are things to avoid in future. And agreements don't mean anything to Trump. He'll tear up a deal much sooner than he'll honour it.
