On July 4th, at The Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, in beautiful and safe Washington D.C., we are going to host the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all, a "TRIBUTE TO AMERICA."
Starting at 7 P.M. EST, this HUGE Celebration will honor our Country's People, Spirit, Strength, Resolve, and Triumphs. With the backdrop of the Lincoln Memorial and surrounding the beautifully new Reflecting Pool, more than 300 Members of our strong and talented Military Bands, Orchestras, and Ceremonial Units, will perform Patriotic Melodies and American Classics, and my Playlist (We will have none of those people that put you to sleep and constantly complain!), as we celebrate our Country, and Rally into the next 250 years.
This ensemble will be the largest formation of Joint Military Music and Ceremonial performances in History. There will be incredible Flyovers and Airshows featuring our Top Military Pilots and Equipment, and I will deliver keynote remarks that you will not want to miss.

The World Democracy Index' next update keeps getting pushed back. It was supposed to be out in May, then June, then July. I'm looking forward to seeing where they will rank the US.

Granted, it'll be the US in 2025, not 2026, but still.

At this point, I'm not even sure the us qualifies as even a flawed democracy anymore. When the single biggest factor in upcoming elections is the ability of the parties to gerrymander their respective geographies in their favour, how can it even be considered a democracy at all?

The UFC at the White House last night was incredible.
The weather was scheduled to be horrendous, and it turned out to be PERFECT! So much for weather predicting.
The Fighters were outstanding - Bo Nickal, Justin Gaethje, Ciryl Gane, Sean O'Malley, Josh Hokit, Mauricio Ruffy, and Diego Lopes were all unbelievable! Most people have never seen anything like that kind of human speed and power before.
The White House has never looked more beautiful. The setting was unsurpassed! Congratulations to Dana White, and his unbelievable UFC. One of the most exciting days in the History of our fabled White House!

I recall the equivalent euphemism for UK politicians is "resting his eyes". Sounds almost plausible by comparison.

I got in a good seven hour blink last night so I'm feeling nice and refreshed today.

But wait a second... when Obama made his deal with Iran, republicans condemned it in part because he "gave them money" (well, technically he was returning money that was actually Iran's in the first place.)

So now "giving Iran money" is an acceptable thing to do?

I'm sure I vaguely remember a Time Team episode where they mentioned a Washington coat of arms (but I don't recollect whether family or town) which featured stars and stripes.

The Washington DC flag is a banner of the Washington family arms. It is significantly different to the US flag, which was likely a defaced East India Company flag.
