Merged (edited) General thoughts about Christianity and the bible

The Y-donor and I had differing o pinions on many things. My Weltanschauungen was "can we live together?" His was "the Grand Dragon is always right."

I avoid church like the plague. He went to the same church as the rest of his klavern. He kept trying to make me to go church. I learned to be absent when the family loaded up on Sunday morning.

That infers malice. Is that your claim?

Not true.
You said that I made some claim about a group of scientists. That is demonstrably untrue, which you were easily able to verify had you so chosen. Making an untrue statement without concern for its lack of truth is, by any reasonable definition, a lie.

ETA: I see that among the plethora of basic knowledge you lack is the difference between the words 'imply' and 'infer. '

Not a worry, a relief. For which I am thankful.
What say you to Psalm 62:12?
For you render to each one according to his works.

Or Ezekiel 18:30?
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD.

John 5:29?
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Or (and here's the kicker) James 2:21-25:
Was not Abraham our father justified by works? You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rabab the harlot also justified by works? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Right.
It seems that many of the denominations that came out of the Protestant Reformation weren't much different than their Catholic predecessor.
Catholicism is very insistent that charity - good works - is essential for salvation, and not faith alone. Faith alone was Martin Luther's thing.

I see your problem.

You've confused an idiom - a figure of speech - for a claim of literal fact. You might want to check that, by which I do not mean that you should put a tally mark next to it.

Randy is able to be fractally wrong, but he won't know what that means, just like he didn't understand that "and" meant that it was another way in which he was wrong that didn't contridict the first.
