Also hard to overstate how much the USA is hurting itself with this. The 'green shift' is inevitable, like the shift from horses to motorized transport. The first administration of grownups to rule the US will have one heck of a job playing catch-up.

Minor quibble - While this correct, I think that "how much the Republican Party is hurting the USA" would be more usefully correct. As would "The first administration of people who care about the US to govern" would be.
