Merged (edited) General thoughts about Christianity and the bible

Knocking up women left and right was a big part of early Mormonism. After the Supreme Court said they couldn't be polygamists anymore, they had to scale it back to knocking up women only left. For a long time, Mormonism encouraged large families, as do Catholics. When that led to economic issues (too many kids for a father to feed), they said not to have more children than you could afford. Where polygamy is still practiced, they have a "lost boys" problem: not enough girls to go around, so only the best boys get to marry; the other boys are simply discarded from the society to make their way as best they can.

Mormons genuinely have an answer to whether gods have gender and genitals. Not so clear with Christians.
As discussed in the Shroud of Turin thread xian artists have gone through phases in the subject of Jesus's genitalia.

Speaking of Jesus, he certainly had a wiener or else the circumcision story in the New Testament is leaving out some important details. Did Jesus retain his wiener after he was resurrected? And since the Word (meaning Jesus) was in the beginning with God, did he have his wiener there in the beginning? If so, why do some gods have wieners and others don't? If not, when do wieners enter the picture in the whole "in his image" scenario?

(If you've ever been to Egypt you know the answer to whether wieners exist in the afterlife.)
I'm having flashbacks to the Bayeux Tapestry thread.....

And this is one of the motivations for emigration in many African countries, as well as providing lots of recruits for the army, various militias, insurgencies, etc.

One of the biblical requirements for the office of church Elder was a man with only one wife.
This tells me that polygamy was common in the early church. Though not promoted.

That only gives me evidence of what I look like. It is not evidence that god created man in his own image.

Do you have any evidence to support the Bible's claim that god created man in his own image?
Religitard deflection. They hope you'll give up and go away when it gets too stupidly tedious. You won't get any honest answers, the HONEST answers would be heresy to them.

An all powerful being would know the outcomes of the process before starting it and could make minor changes to the initial conditions to get the outcome they wanted. It entirely blows free will out the water of course,
An all-powerful being wouldn't have to correct anything, he/she/◊◊◊◊ would KNOW what was needed. The bar is a lot higher than most people realize for any such deity. The club-footed gods, like Yahweh, have to correct their misapprehensions/mistakes with massively over-the-top corrections, like the Great Flood. Yahweh made ◊◊◊◊ humans and then killed them because they had no governor.

The Lot story is another issue with the Christian god, among others. The mob wanted the "men" who Lot sheltered and Lot offered his supposedly virgin daughters as a substitute.

"Kids! I'm sending you out to get gang raped. God would be mad at me if the beings he sent down here without any protection were harmed. So now Sodom has to burn."

For certain definitions of "all powerful".
