The Perils of Platner continue. Turns out that "early in his marriage", he was sending sexually explicit texts to other women (plural). Makes it sound a long time ago, but he got married in 2023.

Amy Gertner, who married Platner in 2023, told the campaign about messages she had found early in their marriage in the spring of 2025. In late August, as some aides were conducting opposition research on their own candidate, Gertner disclosed the texts to a campaign aide to make sure they didn’t pose a risk to her husband’s nascent campaign, those people said.

That bit about making sure they didn't pose a risk is a bit odd; it's more that the campaign would be aware of the risk.

Genevieve McDonald, the former political director for Platner’s campaign, confirmed to CNN on Saturday that Gertner disclosed to her last year that Platner had been sexting multiple women and that the campaign evaluated the matter as a potential political liability.

McDonald left the campaign in October when Platner's controversial posts on Reddit (asking why Blacks don't tip and calling cops bastards and telling rape victims not to get so ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up) surfaced.

The primary is on June 9, although many people have probably already voted. While sitting governor Janet Mills has suspended her campaign, she still appears on the ballot as well as longshot candidate David Costello.

Don;t think it will have much impact. Just gives politicla reporters something to write about in a slow period.

Hilton was gotten rid of as an advisor by Call Me Dave as he was even more useless than the likes of Gideon's too jewish a name for a future PM Osbourne, Ian Smith also known as Ian Smith, Oiky Gove, BoJo the Clown and the man formerly known as Corinne Stockheath.

Looks like Dems have some cautious optimism in Iowa. Per Politico:

Both the Senate and governor’s seats are open in Iowa at the same time for the first time since 1968, and Democrats think they have a slate of nominees who could meet the moment.

“We’re excited about it, and this is probably the first time in a long, long time when I can say that,” said Patty Judge, a Democrat who served as Iowa agriculture secretary and was Democrats’ last lieutenant governor before her ticket lost in 2010.

Iowa Democrats and DCCC are seriously targeting three of the state’s four House seats as well — seats they swept in the last wave election, in 2018.
