What a nasty creature your god is.

Say what? !!!
You're funnyIt really depends on where you decide to draw a line and say "these are modern humans". Have you ever read anything about hominid evolution and where homo sapiens descends from?
But sometimes gods catch them. They definately exist it's just that they're small, nervous and hide behind the skirting boards. But you can lure them out with cheese and.... Oh, sorry that's mice. Mice definitely exist. Which makes them better than gods.
Yes, and then God had to punish it.
That's the sort of person God is.

A few minor flaws? Lol. I have yet to hear any argument for the supernatural that can withstand normal scrutiny. There is rarely any that isn't laughable.I'm painfully aware that there are problems.
But I don't jettison something because of a few minor flaws.
You need to remember that while God is omnipotent and omniscient, it isn't any smarter than the people who invented it and believe in it.Why? Surely your god meant them to do what they did? Wouldn't have been much of a story otherwise - some god created paradise, and all was well. The end.
Do you have anything beyond special pleading?A previous topic asked: Why are some beliefs impervious to all evidence and reason?

Quote from Thread starter @Puppycow
"Some people, I think, can change their beliefs based on new evidence, but it seems that many,
perhaps even most, have at least some beliefs which they will not change for any reason."
In a previous (current) thread we were discussing the validity of NDEs.
Despite reasonable evidence (in my opinion) the majority dismissed the validity.
Why?
Does this strike at a core belief of the nay-Sayers? Something they will fight to defend.
Unbelief is its own belief system.
The safe ground of agnosticism shrugs everything off saying, "We can't know for sure."
Unfortunately, faith requires believing even when the evidence is not all there.

Surprised I haven't heard any complaints about a talking snake. - LOLSnakes appear supremely well adapted for their method of locomotion. They certainly get around more effectively than I can imagine a horse or koala or chimpanzee managing, if I waved a magic wand and removed their limbs*. Don't you think so?
It's almost as if snakes evolved into their form, and the bible just-so story is really just pretend.
* NB I would not do this out of cruelty but as a punishment for their doing exactly what I needed them to do to move the story along. This makes sense in just-pretend world.

What changes can you report for the last 10,000 years? To creationists evolution stopped at today's version of everything.
Most of us probably find the rest of the story far, far harder to believe, than the talking snake. Talking animals are not that uncommon in fiction.Surprised I haven't heard any complaints about a talking snake. - LOL

You folks do it all the time. Ignoring all unfavorable evidence.Non sequiter. Do you know what the phase 'Special Pleading' means?

That's some impressive progress for 10,000 years. - LOLFor a start, the ability digest lactose in adulthood.
You can make free to assume any odd stuff like that in the bible, I class as "ain't necessarily so".Surprised I haven't heard any complaints about a talking snake. - LOL
