Why Are the Majority of Those in Hell the Poor and Oppressed Masses?

Since Hell does not exist, this topic is quite moot.
Moderately amusing, moot originally meant "debatable".

It has come to mean insignificant almost entirely due to an SNL sketch in which The Rev. Jesse Jackson hosts a game show called, "The Point is Moot!" The sketch includes a young Julie Louis-Dreyfuss when she was a cast member.

Moderately amusing, moot originally meant "debatable".
And now, in law, it means exactly the opposite. A matter is "unripe" for litigation (i.e., debate) when actions to be adjudicated have not yet occurred, or some other necessary provision is not yet in force. Conversely a matter becomes "moot" when the asked-for relief no longer has any useful effect and therefore the debate has no distinctive outcome. You can only debate matters after they become ripe and before they are moot.

Difference in USA legalise and English as wot is speaked in't motherland. A moot point in English is a debatable or uncertain point.

If I may - lack of evidence is sufficient to draw such a conclusion. Occam's razor applies.
Doesn't that require making assumptions about the afterlife?
If there is an afterlife, there could be a hell.
Certainly plenty of candidates to inhabit it. - lol

That being said, I still don't believe in hell.
I think there will be a total reset. Back to Eden.

Various NDEs give eyewitness accounts of the afterlife.

It requires making no assumptions. What requires assumptions is that NDE's provide evidence of an afterlife, which then assumes that hell is a part of that afterlife. It also requires an assumption that the Eden in the fantasy book is a real place.

Various NDEs give accounts of what you experience when you're near death. Assuming that this experience is evidence of an afterlife is a stretch.
Why would it be a stretch? They are eyewitness accounts.
That would be primary evidence in a court of law.

I meant Eden metaphorically. As a state of being, not a geographic location.

But if Jesus's words are correct in the bible people wouldn't experience NDEs or anything at the point of death, it's a sleep until he wakes us.

If NDEs are evidence of an afterlife then it is not evidence of the afterlife of the Christians - whether up or down.

Jesus' words? Like what?

Luke 20:37-39 NIV
But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise,
for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
39 Some of the teachers of the law responded, “Well said, teacher!”

If NDEs are evidence of an afterlife then it is not evidence of the afterlife of the Christians - whether up or down.
Why not?
Not all sects of Christianity believe in soul sleep. (unconscious nonexistence)
Even the proof-text used is contradictory.

Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 NIV
5 For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even their name is forgotten.
...
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might,
for in the realm of the dead, where you are going,
there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
