Even for the Party of Nadine Dorries, Whately is outstandingly stupid. But with Labour actually reducing small boat crossings and reducing the back log of asylum applicants it's harder for the Tories to blame Labour for the problem the Tories deliberately created. A new target is needed for their supporter's five minute hate.

The number of asylum seekers living in hotels while waiting for their claims to be processed in the UK has fallen to 20,885 in the 12 months to March 2026.

That's down from 30,657 people in December 2025.

The peak was about 56,000 in September 2023 under the last Conservative government.

It’s “not very British” to trash the economy, wipe out jobs and livelihoods, kill farming, brand most voters as ‘far right’, let anyone in and put them in houses and hotels, choose Moscow over Aberdeen and agree to be subjugated by our neighbours.

What is very British: peacefully making your point clearly, speaking truth to power, patriotism.

Many are entrepreneurs, investors, small businesspeople.
