Apollo 11 Moon Landing Revisited: Hoax ~vs~ Debunk

It's a considerably better one than 'the Soviets wouldn't have spotted fakery, or wouldn't have called it out if they did'.

What would they have done with it if they had? Unlike the Soviet Union they had no heavy space launching capability in the 1960s.

It could be said. Do you want to say it? Do you think it will finally be your unassailable gotcha that blows the whole Apollo conspiracy wide open? It could be said the moon is actually a large cheese floating through the sky under the crystal firmament. Do you want to say that instead?
The US space exploration programme started in the early 1960's. From having nothing and being nowhere. NOTHING. And earthbound, suddenly, within seven years of Kennedy's pledge, they're walking around taking photos relayed to earth on a non-GEO positioned satellite and whizzing around on Land Rovers. Fast forward 54 years later and at last we have the Orion programme at full speed ahead without any frilly bits or silly speeches.

That would be a curious tale if there weren't a mountain of evidence explaining in full detail exactly how it was done, a record studied and accepted by the world's engineering community for generations.

Except for the part about "relaying photos to Earth via satellite." Apollo didn't claim to have done that. And the part about starting from nothing in 1962. That's just factually untrue.

Who's whizzing around on Land Rovers?

Yes, we have the Apollo !! crew bounding down dem steps like Obama on speed. Yet the Artemis crew needed physical support just to stand up

No. That's not what the videos show.

The Artemis crew have support to steady them if they lose their balance, but they appear to be managing okay, and indeed they have a following wheelchair, which they obviously don't require. The Apollo 11 astronauts similarly plod rather heavily down from the helicopter using the handrails for balance unlike the Obama clip you allude to, and only take a few steps before the film cuts. Clearly both crews are excited and jubilant but neither is dancing a jig.

You are imagining a difference that isn't shown in the film

JayUtah refers to Kaysing as 'Cat Lady' * but as of this moment in time, I can't help thinking Kaysing had a point about their merely orbiting earth for eight days but maybe he was exaggerating just to make a point.

*This is a good attribute to have, not a negative one.
Not if it's simply the result of knee-jerk contrarianism regarding a subject about which you merely feign understanding.

Photography, for example: you object to the lack of visible stars in the Apollo photos, because you're just parroting your way through the classics. Then you imply that you know plenty enough about photographing stars because you've done it yourself and it's easy. But when asked to describe how you did it, by people who have actually done it, you ignore the question and chase off after another squirrel, because you haven't actually done it. You're just pretending to know what you're talking about.

More arguments from personal incredulity rather than actual empirical evidence.

And Robert Goddard would be surprised to learn that engineers had no concept of rocketry until 1962. Who can forget Kennedy introducing the world to the concept of rocket propulsion, and even giving it the working title "rocketry" in his September '62 speech.

Lacking any valid factual basis, Moon hoax conspiracy theorists soon resort to ad hoc subjective impressions as the basis for their claims. These can be debated endlessly without resolution, keeping the conspiracy theorists in the limelight. Remember: a conspiracy theory is not about presenting a better alternative explanation that is then accepted as the new narrative. A conspiracy theory is about keeping attention firmly focused on the conspiracy theorist in a perpetual controversy over decreasingly relevant minutia.

Firstly it's a simply not true that the US space programme started from nothing as America had military rocket programmes well before it turned those swords into ploughshares. No, they didn't go from zero to the lunar rover in seven years.

Are you now claiming that the Indians, Chinese or Japanese of the 1960s could have afforded the rush to copy them and have caught up with Apollo? Have you any comprehension of how much of America's GDP went into Apollo?

And Land Rovers had been in production since the late 1940s.

Not just the rockets. The tracking technology came from WWII radar advances. The space suits came from high altitude military applications. The guidance computers came from systems developed decades earlier to decrypt enemy codes and, even more relevantly, to calculate artillery ballistics tables.

If they just orbited Earth, what was tracked going to and from the moon?
