The Regime fails to realize that the costs at the gas pump are evidence against the narrative that The Regime is winning the war. It seems they've given up on the notion that it isn't a war, for now. I'm sure they'll declare that it isn't a war when it is convenient for them.

I was sick and didn't leave my house for the last three days. Gas went up 20 cents a gallon in that time.
