It was, but in that case we're just quibbling over verb tenses. Hitler was a plague on humanity. That Hitler is dead. The claim is that Hitler may reincarnate unless God intervenes, in which case Hitler will be a plague on humanity. What Hitler is doing right now is anyone's guess.

If God was going to intervene, why didn't he last time? Or the time before? Or the time before that? By what criteria would he decide "Yep, that's it, they've had the perfect amount of Hitlering. No more Hitler needed."?
