Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

Iran used Chinese spy satellite to target US bases - https://giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/actions/redeem/0c8ad933-51a2-4a84-a731-8a9a61961f10 via @FT

Iran secretly acquired a Chinese spy satellite that gave the Islamic republic a powerful new capability to target US military bases across the Middle East during the recent war, according to a Financial Times investigation.

Leaked Iranian military documents show the satellite, known as TEE-01B, was acquired by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Aerospace Force in late 2024 after it was launched into space from China.

Iran using Chinese targeting information is less important than Iran no longer giving the US a heads-up before bombing a base - that's what caused the most causalities.
I think that caught the Trump administration off guard and made them hide US troops behind human shields in commercial Hotels.

I'm not in the least bit sorry for IRGC members who get killed. As for civilians, Iran killed something like 40,000 of their own civilians just this year. If you actually care about Iranian civilian deaths, you should want this evil regime toppled as soon as possible.
If the US wasn't just senselessly attacking Iran, but actually had a workable plan for regime change, that argument might just be slightly more palatable, but as it is, all it amounts to is "well, you kill your own people, so it's ok If we do it as well", ie whataboutism of the highest order.

And, just yo be clear, I despise the theocracy of Iran, but am capable of simultaneously condemning the utter madness of the US administration.

Yes, it's at its full current capacity. That capacity can be expanded through additional construction. It is in SAs interest to expand that capacity, and I expect they will.

sorry i thought when you said they already had the pipelines to do that, you weren’t referring to pipelines that needed to be expanded. what’s the time frame on this future action you expect them to take?

Mehdi Hasan: You murdered 300 people last week including a baby at her father's funeral

Doron Spielman: We murdered 300 terrorists last week, and I think those are your people.

Mehdi Hasan: A one-year-old baby is a terrorist?

Doron Spielman: The one-year-old baby was put in harm's way because Hezbollah keeps

Doron Spielman: They were put harm's way at a funeral?

@realDonald Trump
China is very happy that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz. I am doing it for them, also - And the World. This situation will never happen again. They have agreed not to send weapons to Iran.
President Xi will give me a big, fat, hug when I get there in a few weeks. We are working together smartly, and very well! Doesn't that beat fighting???
BUT REMEMBER, we are very good at fighting, if we have to - far better than anyone else!!! President DJT

BARTIROMO: Did you see Europe is drafting a plan to open up the Hormuz Strait without the United States?

TRUMP: It's so sad. Look at Greenland. We should have Greenland.

Trump: "You call it the Strait of Hormuz or the Hormuz Strait. The only thing you can't call it is the Trump Strait. They don't like that idea."

And what exactly did Trump say he would do as part of the negotiations?
It's a general point. If you are negotiating an agreement you need to convince the other side that you will abide by it. Bombing the ◊◊◊◊ out of them doesn't do it.

We didn't kill the February negotiators. I'm not sure where you got that from.
Interesting you have decided to qualify the point.

Indeed we are. So why is there this idea that we have to notify Iran that we're going to attack before we attack? We don't.
It's called negotiating in good faith. Look it up.

No wonder America is so hated throughout the rest of the World. You have no idea how to behave in a civilised manner.

I'm not in the least bit sorry for IRGC members who get killed. As for civilians, Iran killed something like 40,000 of their own civilians just this year.

Are you seriously claiming that, because Iran kills its own civilians, it's OK for the USA to do it too?

If you actually care about Iranian civilian deaths, you should want this evil regime toppled as soon as possible.

And how do you think America killing everybody is going to make that happen?

It's a general point. If you are negotiating an agreement you need to convince the other side that you will abide by it. Bombing the ◊◊◊◊ out of them doesn't do it.
What's to abide by? There was no agreement. Bombing people when they won't reach an agreement encourages people to reach an agreement.
No wonder America is so hated throughout the rest of the World. You have no idea how to behave in a civilised manner.
You're siding with Iran. "Civilized" isn't actually a metric you care about.

What's to abide by? There was no agreement. Bombing people when before they won't reach an agreement encourages prevents people to reach an agreement.
FTFY

In both cases the independant facillitators thought there was good progress towards an agreement; the attacks were launched before an agreement could be reached.

This was and remains the intent of the Israeli government, to prevent an agreement between the US and Iran. It is possible the negotiators for the US, Kushner and Witkoff, were influenced by the desires of the Israeli government in their approach to the negotiations. Kushner is a close friend of Netanyahu. I wonder whether this is why responsibility for negotiations has shifted to Vance and away from Kushner and Witkoff?

Is that what I said? No, it isn't.
Actually, yes it is what you said. You are justifying the USA's killing of civilians by claiming Iran also kills civilians. There really is no way you can spin any of this into a moral good.

We aren't killing everybody.
Jesus Christ. You really are in deflection mode, aren't you.

OK how do you think the current US military action in which a lot of people are dying including quite a few civilians is going to help topple the Iranian regime. All you've done (by "you", I mean the USA, not you personally) is given the regime an external enemy with which to distract the populace.

What's to abide by?

Well nothing because as soon as any kind of progress looks like being made, America and Israel do some bombing.

There was no agreement. Bombing people when they won't reach an agreement encourages people to reach an agreement.

Carrots work better than sticks.

You're siding with Iran.
No, I'm siding against the crazed leader who threatened to wipe out Iranian civilisation.

"Civilized" isn't actually a metric you care about.
Says the person who excused the murder of Iranian civilians by his government by claiming that other people also murder Iranian civilians.
