Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

I'm not in the least bit sorry for IRGC members who get killed. As for civilians, Iran killed something like 40,000 of their own civilians just this year. If you actually care about Iranian civilian deaths, you should want this evil regime toppled as soon as possible.
Only if that results in fewer deaths. A civil war will be far more bloody than sticking with the status quo that is going to inevitably and peacefully change as we saw with Eastern Europe.

We also don't know how much of the deaths were the result of Mossad and CIA provoked uprisings with the promise of armed support that never materialised. A CIA sponsored coup attempt (cf Bay of Pigs) may turn out to be the reality.

Considering he's chickened out half a dozen times on Iran, multiple times on tariffs, Greenland and Canada, I rate the chance of him threatening China at 0.0000%.

Even that thicko fat ◊◊◊◊ must be aware of the thousands of silos China has built. I wonder where they're aimed?

the other option is complete humiliation and to let iran control the straight, he painted himself into a corner. is the world going to sit by and let him crash the economy forever?

i mean, idk what he’s going to order the military to do or how they’ll respond. the trump admin are idiots. if you want someone to tell you exactly how it works, ask ziggarut, i don’t have the answers.

Chinese minerals, rare earths are needed for the US to replace all the missiles etc. they have lost. China could say if US blockades oil coming to China, then China will blockade essential minerals for the US.
They have some leverage there. It's not infinite though, and any trade dispute comes at a cost for China as well.

The longer the strait remains closed, the less it will matter. The strait is not the only way for oil to leave the gulf, and closure just creates an incentive to bypass it entirely.

Iran is not Eastern Europe. The Iranian regime is not the Soviet Union. Nothing is inevitable about peaceful change. Hell, the peaceful fall of the iron curtain wasn't inevitable either, it could very easily have turned bloody.

Now you're into conspiracy theory territory, I'm not going to follow.

i don’t really know what he’s doing...

I'm sure I do.

When you've been supporting the Republican Party all your life, they reach a stage where no criticism is valid and the Party must be protected, no matter how insane or sickening that support is.

2+2=5

Interestingly almost the exact same number people shot by Americans in the USA last year. Fortunately not all of them died, so Iran is merely more efficient than Americans in this regard.

even if it mattered less, it's still going to matter a lot. bypassing it would have to be the least appealing of a bunch of bad options, one of which is wait trump out which is probably the most reasonable choice for the forseeable future.

Why do you say that? Saudi Arabia already has pipelines to do that. It costs some money and time to increase the capacity, but it's very doable, and it would prevent Iran from using Hormuz as a weapon against the Gulf states in the future. Chances are they will build up that capacity regardless of how this war turns out.

according to reuters the saudi pipeline is already at full capacity
Yes, it's at its full current capacity. That capacity can be expanded through additional construction. It is in SAs interest to expand that capacity, and I expect they will.

It will be hilarious if the world switches off of Iran's oil corridor the way Europe has switched off of Russia's energy supply.

Besides, this Iran position on a global trade corridor has been tolerated long enough.

So many atheists on this thread falling over themselves to defend a psychotic theocracy.

Nah. There's only a few here trying to defend Trump and his apocalyptic crew.

They can always find a buyer in China, even if only at a discount. But all the other Gulf states could eventually pump their oil out through pipelines to bypass Hormuz.

What the world is already doing is moving to renewables as fast as possible, boosting China and accelerating the decline of the US and its clients in the Gulf.
