Trump's Second Term

Trump: With the narrowing of the Strait of Hormuz, all oil tankers are pouring towards America to load oil and gas.
Now we have become the energy capital of the world and the big ships are filling up one after the other.

"Narrowing"? Does he think Iran has closed the strait by litterally moving their country closer to Oman so the tankers don't fit through?

Since we can't dig up Jimmy Carter, I think 0bama needs to go and negotiate. For the Trump problem, he is soon ready for the pretend office they had for his dad. Just have 10 pretend documents to sign and 100 sharpies.

Do you really think it would be an improvement to have Trump bombing both side's negotiators?

While Vance was announcing that negotiations with Iran had failed, Donald and the Secretary of State were in Miami at a UFC fight
Well Trump had already said he didn't care about the outcome of the talks, so it looks like he was being truthful, though that probably has a lot to do with his short attention span and the loss of short term memory associated with his cognitive decline, and you know him being an ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ in general.

Trump: "It's amazing, the media's credibility is down to 13%. We defeated their navy."

(I didn't know the media had a navy. Also, the 13% is a number he just made up.)

Well fingers crossed. And let's not kid ourselves the opposition only looks a better choice in comparison.
Well that's on US voters and the media. We are talking about a country where people were for the ACA, but against Obamacare, where 10s of millions looked at Trump's first term compared that what Biden and Harris were offering and decided Trump was the better option. Oh and lets not forget the section of voters that consistently self-harms by sitting home and not voting because the Democratic candidate wasn't inspiring enough. Gore, Hilary Clinton, Biden/Harris, may not have been the second coming of FDR but they would each have been a damn sight better than what the USA got and would probably have made things a little better for ordinary people. I read an article that stated that where a couple of decades ago 30 states might swing either way in a Presidential election that is down to 9 today. If that is accurate that means there must a be a significant number of states where people will not vote in Democrats except in the most exceptional of circumstances. That leaves the Democrats having to focus on the remaining swing voters who are likely to be scared off by any big radical plans, not to mention that getting such plans enacted would be nigh on impossible when an administration might well lose control of Congress after two years thanks to midterms.
One side wants to make incremental improvements without bringing everything crashing down, the other is gleefully riding a bullodozer, its an unequal struggle.

Garrison, that state level trend is mostly cheating. In 9-10 states you get state levels twisting the rules completely to republicans running for state office. When it is state wide, as it is for judges and US senators, they do not do as well.

For local issues such as my state, abortion and trans youth have been a big thing for 10 years. Also stealing state money for Christian schools.

Ron Johnson on Iran: "By the way, this is exactly what nationwide gun control results in. The Iranian people are completely disarmed. It's gonna be very difficult for them to rise up. So it's a very difficult situation."

US President Donald Trump says that the US is going to start "BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz".

In a lengthy new post on Truth Social, he says that "the meeting went well, most points were agreed to, but the only point that really mattered, NUCLEAR, was not".

He says that "at some point" an agreement on free passage will be reached, but "Iran has not allowed that to happen by merely saying, 'There may be a mine out there somewhere,' that nobody knows about but them."

In the same post Trump also says that he's "instructed our Navy to seek and interdict every vessel in International Waters that has paid a toll to Iran", and that the US Navy is going to start " destroying the mines the Iranians laid in the Straits".

"No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas," he says, adding "any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!"

"The Blockade will begin shortly," he says.
