General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Telling lies again
The ships weren't in UK territorial waters.

Richard Tice MP 🇬🇧
@TiceRichard
Navy barred from boarding Russian ships…

Allegedly by Lord Hermer, our Attorney General

The man who insisted we give away Chagos Islands

If true, is he working for China or Russia? Or just against British interests
<raises hand> Is the final sentence you, or something Tice wrote?

🚨 BREAKING: £31 BILLION gone.

OpenAI has just pulled the plug on Stargate UK.

Their reason? Ed Miliband has made British energy so catastrophically expensive that one of the world’s biggest tech giants has walked away.

Keir Starmer stood next to Donald Trump late last year and promised Britain would be an AI superpower.
Ed Miliband just killed it. For UK net zero (0.8% of global emissions). For Greta. For nothing.

£31,000,000,000. Gone

7 square miles of solar panels all shipped from China with micro cracks with potential of leak of toxic chemicals into soil…Prime farmland ruined…That is our destiny if we do not stop this desecration

Why is this tedious â—Šâ—Šâ—Šâ—Šâ—Šâ—Šâ—Š allowed unsupervised access to crayons?

If the old iron works had still been going, he'd be the one sent to stores for tartan paint or a long wait and wouldn't understand why the others were laughing at him. Then he'd probably have been invalided out for burning himself on something hot...

Or you could drive a tractor over it and have real leaks of toxic chemicals into the ground.

Also, prime farmland? Not unproductive or unprofitable farmland? Why would anyone who owns land use the best bits for a solar farm?

For some reason this week a lot of Gammon accounts have switched to Ireland for their content.
They seem to think some kind of civil war has started.

🚨🇮🇪 Meanwhile in Ireland

The Irish government are now deploying the military to tackle truckers and farmers protesting the destruction of their livelihoods.

Irish government are quick to call on the army to deal with hard-working indigenous Irish citizens, but do nothing to protect them from the thousands of men they are deliberately importing.

In hot summers, the shade offered is often beneficial to sheep and wildlife

Seven square miles? Piffling area for large solar arrays. China has several over 200 square miles each. And toxic chemicals? Silica? That's glass.

From St Petersburg, England and Ireland are sort of the same place.

Yes, there was a recent post hereabouts saying some (non UK) semi-desert land used as a solar farm was becoming greened as a result of the partial shade and could now support grazing animals.

Yeah, but 200 square miles of glass. Imagine how many millions of people might cut themselves if that broke. Terrifying.
We have possums jump out of our trees onto our Chinese-made solar panels on the roof. The little bastards weigh a kg or two each and come from about 2 meters up, so they land with a resounding thump. So far, no broken panels.

Reform lost the Cliftonville seat (near Margate) today to the Greens

"Their party had polled 40% of the vote in 2025, when the Greens trailed in fourth with just 12%. This time round the Greens secured a 39% vote share, ahead of Reform with 33%."

Must be the popularity boost Reform get from the semi-on they have for Trump.
