General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

This is what seems to have upset the American Congressman Brendan Boyle.

It seems the Duke of Devonshire wants to charge an annual rent of €50 a hectare up from €5 a hectare. Looks bad but the average agricultural rent in Ireland is €700 a hectare.

My ex in-laws were quite Tory (apparently they met at the Young Conservatives). Their MP was Tony Benn, which must have galled them. But out of boredom, I found myself reading one of their books, which was the memoirs of the previous Duke of Devonshire.

In it he said something that I guess some of the Irish members of this forum could have explained to him. Namely, and only a slight paraphrase, "I'm always regarded as English in Dublin, despite owning a lot of land in Ireland". 🤦‍♂️

It's not a book I would recommend reading if you have something more interesting to read, like a warranty for a cheap kettle.

We are now a country that favours criminals over law enforcers. Britain is broken

This makes me think of a colleage who occasionally shares far right garbage on Facebook. The last item I quickly scrolled past warned that we were blundering into re-enacting the Iranian revolution right here in the UK.

Well, maybe. As I recall they turned against the monarchy and overthrew it, then overthrew its government too and gave over ruling the country to a bunch of religious fanatics.

Maybe he was onto something.
It does seem the right are turning against the Royal Family.
They think the King should be replacing Starmer and Labour with whichever faction they are loyal to this week.

Prince William has lost John.

John Cleese
@JohnCleese
Could someone ask him to read the Koran

For example the bits about killing 'infidels', and child marriage. and sexual slavery, and Female Genital
Mutilation, and how husbands may beat wives, and worst of all, how dogs should be banned

This not standard C of E stuff, is it ?

Or even the bit about imposing Islam on the entire country, which might be irony, but I don't think so
Christianity would never have done anything like that, would it?

Restore Britain 🇬🇧 Spokeswoman for the safety of Women and Children.

My local high street has 6 Turkish Barbers.. 6 !!! and outside each one there’s always at least 3 men loitering throughout the day smoking! We all know you can get more than a haircut and shave in these establishments. Strange how trading standards never seem to intervene and even though we all know they are dealing drugs and weapons, the police do nothing! Organised crime in broad daylight! Lawless Britain 🇬🇧

There are plenty of pubs to loiter and smoke outside of instead.

How's your party vetting system, Nige? Hmmm? Overlooked any more criminals today?
"Yes as it's working as intended, thanks. Now I'm off to drink some expensive wine, not that beer I have to pose* with in order to seem less elite"

*I don't think I have seen a photo of him with anything other than a completely full pint.

I want a future without scum like Farage dominating political news.

Quite seriously I am so concerned for the future of the country that my other half and I have brought forward all our retirement plans so we can batten down the hatches until we die. I was brought up with the fear of nuclear war, terrorism and under Thatcher, yet I have never felt as much fear for the future as I do today after I have seen what happened in the USA. I joke in this thread as a coping mechanism!

We hadn't expected the tsunami of reaction from the recent USA actions, we hope we can just about keep ahead of that.

Agreed. My wife and I are in our mid-fifties, our whole lives we've paid in while seeing (primarily under the Tories) what we expect to get back being taken away bit by bit and the assets the British public built and paid for sold off cheap. But if these bastards get in it will be unprecedented.

Looking at Farage & Lowe's supporters they're going to get a shock when the words limiting the medical care to keep them alive are "Existing Conditions Excluded". Unfortunately that'll apply to us too.

People with jobs also get child benefit.
But this is code for saying the Muslims are having lots of kids to get rhr benefit and replace us

Rupert Lowe MP
@RupertLowe10
The two-child benefit cap officially comes to an end today - more handouts for more indolence. Billions. All funded the British taxpayer.

The message to healthy people on benefits who want more children?

GET A JOB.

Restore Britain will crush parasitic Britain.
