If any president has the power to in effect if not law undo any agreement the previous presidents did, then, logically, no one should make any deals with the US that extend past the current presidency.

From what I'm reading the deal Trump is saying he now wants to negotiate with Iran is pretty much the one Obama negotiated with them and Trump tore up the moment he got into power. If he'd just got it ratified and enforced, all this grief could have been avoided. And we all know that the only reason he didn't do that is because it had Obama's name on it, and he's a petty vindictive little ◊◊◊◊.

We don't "all know that." Sanctions relief under the JCPOA permitted Iran to channel billions of dollars to its terror proxies in the MIddle East, essentially funding the war that Hamas began on October 7, 2023. Had Trump allowed the JCPOA to continue and not reimpose sanction on Iran, imagine how strong Iran's terror proxies would have become.

It is kinda the most basic principle of Diplomacy that you are unworthy to have negotiations with if you use the cover of negotiations to attack, or if you target negotiators for killing, or your closest ally in the conflict is.

Kuwait says Iran has hit one of its giant crude oil tankers that is docked at a Dubai port.
The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation described the incident as "a brutal Iranian airstrike" and reported there was some damage to the ship but no casualties.
The tanker Al Salmi was fully loaded at the time of the strike, which caused a fire onboard.
