Stephen Baldwin, Porn Crusader

dont ya just hate born agains. Balwin went thru life as a glutton, drunk, womenizing, scumbag. He had his fun and NOW has found Jesus. So he wants to take all our fun away now that hes done.

So you think gluttonous, drunken, womenizing, scumbags should be invited to his neighborhood?

I don't see how either is going to intrinsically attract people who are a danger to your kids.

It's telling that you're against the free market/capitalism in this case. I guess pictures and videos of naked people, which hurt no one, are more dangerous than quacks refusing to dispense medicine to those in need.

Part of the free market is the right of the residents to discourage what they perceive to be a harmful business from surviving in their neighborhood.

Then part of the freemarket is the right of the public to encourage businesses to dispense medication to those who need it.

Exactly. If you disagree with their practices, you boycott them or protest them.

I'm sure there are certain businesses everyone could think of that they would not want in their neighborhood. A jail, sewage treatment plant, something.

Or, get the government to regulate them. Like these morons want to do with porn and prostitution.

A jail - honestly, I wouldn't care.
Sewage treatment plant - as long as they kept the smell down, I wouldn't care. They're actually kinda cool.

I honestly can't think of a single (legal) business that would really bother me if they moved in, unless it encroached on me in some way (see sewage treatment plant odor).

Republican National Headquarters. :D

Ever check one of those websites that tells you who's a registered "sex offender" in your neighborhood? You probably already have some living nearby...

Pedophiles aren't going to be heading to the porn store, what they want thankfully can't be bought there :(

Part of the free market is the right of the residents to discourage what they perceive to be a harmful business from surviving in their neighborhood.
And part of the free market is the right of people to discourage what they perceive to be hypocritical moralizing that shifts the focus from real problems.

That's one of the first things my wife did when we moved to our neighborhood. No pedophiles nearby.

There's a convicted sex offender in my apartment complex--sexual assault. (The Georgia registry doesn't list specifics beyond what crime they were convicted of.)

Oddly, as I signed my lease renewal papers today, I noticed that one of the lines I signed was to indicate that I'd never been convicted of a laundry list of crimes, including sexual assault.

Makes me wonder about the complex's screening process.

There are tons of registered sex offenders living in my neighborhood. Which also contains an elementary school. And yes, many of the offenders were convicted for child-related sex offenses.

No porn stores nearby, though. Gotta protect the children!

Why do you think the sex registry was started?
