Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

Perhaps Qatar will now realize the mistake they made in aligning with Iran.
How does that work? Aliging with Iran resulted in them being attacked by Iran?

But as for diverging interests and influence, for all the claims that Trump is the dog being wagged by the Israelis, there seems to me more evidence that he's actually more in the pay of the Qataris. There seems much more quid pro quo there, to the extent that he's much more critical of Israel and defensive about Qatar.

And Israel, for its part, probably does not see much value in ending this soon. As JTS says, Israel wants to keep the US in this so that they can continue to bomb Iran and the IRGC. Whereas the US may have been happier doing what Ziggurat suggested and finding someone who will negotiate better terms. Too bad Israel keeps killing them.

With the oil and gas fields, is it in Israel's interests to leave them alone or would targeting them result in a bigger war? The answer is obvious.

You have contradictory standards. Is following the law a good thing or a bad thing? You have said it's both.
No I haven't. I have said that you seem to think that incompetence in malignancy is a good thing.

He often reverses his illegal acts but not all the time, and often a lot of the damage has been done by then. Hegseth's illegal instruction to offer no quarter, for example will have adverse consequences for US troops, regardless of whether he rolls it back. He's just telling any Iranian troops to fight to the death because there's no point in surrender.

It really isn't rocket science. .

Breaking the law so often is bad.

I see a lot of "them fighting back proves they are evil" justification.
Iran has no history of attacking any of its neighbours first.

And providing staging posts or logistical support to the country attacking you absolutely counts as being the attacker.

Gulf States are mostly pissed at the US for triggering Irans reaction, but can't voice that for fear of losing the little protection the US can still provide.

There’s no maybe about it. And it’s not just the UK.

Europe is weak. That weakness was a deliberate choice. Trump’s call puts a spotlight on that shameful weakness. They can lecture us all they want to, but they can’t defend themselves and their interests.
European forces are aimed towards defence of European territory from Russian aggression through NATO.

Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. A relatively small section of the whole has been hit. The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen.

Unfortunately, Iran did not know this, or any of the pertinent facts pertaining to the South Pars attack, and unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a portion of Qatar's LNG Gas facility. NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar - In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before. I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar's LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so. Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J.TRUMP

Every member of NATO refused the call to help the United States to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. All of Them!!

Extensive damage' from missile attacks, Qatar petroleum company says

Qatar's state-owned petroleum company says missiles have struck Ras Laffan Industrial City, an area with a major oil-processing site.

"Emergency response teams were deployed immediately to contain the resulting fires, as extensive damage has been caused," QatarEnergy wrote on social media.

All personnel are accounted for and there are no casualties at this time, the statement said.

Another vessel has been hit by an "unknown projectile" in the Persian Gulf, according to UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

The crew have all been reported safe and well, it says.

The incident took place 4 nautical miles east of Ras Laffan, Qatar, an energy complex which has been targeted by Iranian attacks overnight.

Did they think that was the only threat they faced? Or did the figure that the US would handle anything else for them?

fbi begins investigation into joe kent, the counter terrorism official who recently resigned over the iranian war-like excursion
Begins? According to your source, they were investigating him before he resigned.

That they should do, and also pursue an independent foreign policy, so that they don't get suckered into joining wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya which were not in their interests.
Afghanistan was part of your NATO obligation, you have to suck that one up if you want to be part of it. As for the other two, sure, you can have an independent security policy if you want... if you are strong enough to pursue it on your own.

You aren't.

they began an investigation and he resigned recently
Began is past tense. Begins is present tense. See the difference? Using present tense implies the investigation was triggered by his resignation. If there's any causal link, it's the other way around.

Wrong.
It wasn't the country of Afghanistan that attacked - NATO members could have easily rejected the idea that this was an attack that fell under the mutual defense agreement
