Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

I'm not sure it's a mitigating factor that the POTUS is utterly erratic and makes multiple stupid policies that he sometimes but not always completely backtracks on.

How are we supposed to work out which stupid ideas he'll follow through on , and which he'll quietly abandon?
Well, you could start with realizing that the federal government's role is actually limited. If someone wants to construct a windmill on private or state land using non-federal funding, that's not a federal issue, and so Trump's opinion is irrelevant.

Yes and Trump has been constrained by laws. He's still trying to see if he can have a third term. And trying to legislate how states run elections.

Your defence of him seems to be that he's incompetent at messing stuff up.

Well, yes. Are you not aware of how often he's obeyed court orders? Even ones that later get overturned?

No, he isn't.

Legislate. That's a rather key word. Presidents don't legislate. Congress does.

Your criticism of him seems to be unconnected from what he actually does.

If he had a ◊◊◊◊ in your hat you would wear it and say thanks you
If he gave you a gold watch you would break it and throw it away.

What a fun game you've invented. But it has nothing to do with the validity of anything I said.

Again, "he's malign but often folds" isn't ideal for a military leader. And there are plenty of ways he could knacker wind power. Including his favourite, tariffs on components.

No, he isn't.
Presumably you are basing this on the fact that he's said he wants to multiple times and that there are mechanisms for him to do so, which as he's a liar, means he won't?

True, he's trying to force Congress to implement it.

Not really.

And again, do you think he's remotely suitable as Commander in Chief, and what do you think about his statements on Cuba?

You're incoherent. First the criticism is that he doesn't follow the law. But when I point out that he does, that's somehow a fault.

This really is just Orange Man Bad.
No, you are not reading what I have written.

He often folds, which means he doesn't always. It looks as though, last year his administration was only abiding by about 2/3 of court orders.

He keeps trying to break the law. Including aspects of international law, that are part of US law. And he* tried to get Kelly's pension reduced.

Hence his He appoints incompetents to sensitive roles. Why was Hegseth and other senior officials using Signal? Because they wanted to evade their legal obligations for record keeping, trusting a 3rd party app rather than government communication software. Which was clearly a security risk.

*You might say that it was Hegseth, but it was with Trump's approval, If people are doing Trump's bidding (yes, that includes Mike Johnson) then he's responsible.

Trump instigated a war with no clear aims, without the equipment to perform even the tasks (tasks with only tactical goals) in the early phase of the war, not even the preparation to deal with the most obvious retaliation (that Iran had used in the 1980s) and insulted and alienated those who could help him.

Meanwhile, Tanker traffic is again flowing. However it's flowing through Iranian waters, suggesting that it's under Iranian control.
