The Gospel

You people are still feeding this troll?

Look it is very simple:

All questions given to kathy are going to be answered with "ONLY JEEBUS SAVES?!"

Which translates to:

"I can't hold an intellectually honest debate so I'll just throw scripture at you with incorrect punctuation?"

Conversation over. No intelligent discussion of metaphysics will ensue. To continue to egg this fundy on will do nothing but give her evidence to take to her cult that she is fighting satan dilligently and us mean evil athiests pick on her.

Now. How about some recipies and kitten pictures?

Here ya go, Fowl. Plaster this on KKs forhead.

That's funny Fowl I thought you atheists were the cult? Hum seems to me that you just choose to stay blinded to the truth. You call me a troll? I have gotten in many conversations here with people that want to talk and be nice. Seems you just don't feel like being nice to anyone, especially me because I am a believer. Sorry, I am who God made me to be!

Howcome you like to put Christianity down so badly when you say you have friends that are believers too? Do you just stay away from that subject with them completely? I'm just curious how you are friends with other believers when you obviously have gotten hostile at me for sharing my faith?
Perhaps I am just more voicetross than your other friends.

But you DON'T talk nice, Kathy. You preach. We don't see how you live your life as a Christian, as opposed to Kittynh, or MLynn. What we get from you is badly quoted Bible verses, lots of declarations of how you believe, and plenty of trite answers to deeply troubling questions. You don't show anyone anything, you don't engage in a debate or discussion, we know next to nothing about how you came to believe, and what you've told us is little more than drivel. If anything, given the few experiences you have shared, you've shown us more reason to NOT believe, more than anything else.

And when you're called on it, you revert to preaching and moaning about the lack of faith around here, ignoring the reality that so many on this board, myself included, came from deeply religious backgrounds. We choose to use our heads, rather than follow deeply entrenched paths that lead nowhere.

More often than not, those of us who have friends who believe DO discuss spiritual matters. But that's the key: we DISCUSS them, we don't preach at one another. It's a small matter called RESPECT.

People aren't hostile towards you because you share your faith. People are hostile because you preach and don't listen to what's been said. You cherry-pick what you want from what's been posted, which is damned dishonest. It's the sign of a spiritual coward, and frankly, we've no need for that.

Got it, now?

Strawman honey. It's not Christianity I put down. It's your incessant preaching and inability to engage in discourse.

If you think I slam Christianity, you can talk to KellyJ on this forum. She is a Catholic and I am very willing to help her with her website.

As for your "voicetross"-ness, no, it's not that you are more "voicetross" (you should get a dictionary or take some remedial english, dear) it is your constant preaching without answering direct questions. I call you a troll because after 23 pages in this thread you have never answered the questions posted by so many in the first 10 pages.

Oh, and one more thing:

I need $800 a week just to stay even. It's raining today. I doubt it would do any good, but if your prayers are so effective, how about praying up some work for an old busted up mutt trucker sitting in the wet? No one wants to move anything when it's raining for some reason.

Give it a shot, Kathy. Let's see what you can do.

I think you've covered it right there, Fowl. She has so little respect for anyone, she won't even check her grammar, nor her spelling, or for that matter, review what she wrote to make sure she's even using real words. She's simply spewing words, as hard and as fast as she can type them, hoping that something will stick.

And the reality is that it won't. If anything, she looks more and more like some of the whack-job street preachers I used to see in downtown Sacramento, with their signs declaring that "JESUS IS COMING SOON!" and ignoring the fact that people would cross the street to avoid being harangued by them.

And that's sad. Because in rereading some of what Kathy said, there's moments when she quits preaching, (not many of them, but a few), and she reveals that there's something more going on. There's just a glimmer of hope that there's an active brain hiding in there. But we'll never see it, because she's so damned busy being some sort of proxy for Christian Dude or whatever pseudo-Christian Guru she's following this week.

It's unfortunate. But, that's the way it is in a lot of Evangelical Churches.

Hi Rt, and I will pray that God helps you get those financial needs met. My question for you is would even be willing to say your help comes from Him? I realize even the very breath I breath is a gift from God. Not that everything in my life is perfect, but I do care about others and want to be a friend!

And you are right Fowl when you suggest I take an English class. I could definately benefit from it so perhaps I will have to sign up for a class soon. But when it comes to you being upset on why I haven't answered every single question at the beginning of this thread, well I had so many coming at me perhaps I just forgot and didn't get the time to get back to each and everyone of them. Some of them I'm sure I just did not know how to answer?

I like many of you here are very inquisitive and sometimes the answers come fast, some answers come slow, and some just don't come at all. All I can say Fowl I am sorry if I have seemed to purposely ignore some of those questions. I will have to learn to at least say I don't know or have an answer at this time. But if there is any specific question that you asked me that is bothering you please feel free to ask again ,and I will try to give you a reply even if it's, "I don't know." Sometimes you guys really get me wanting to find more answers too. Is that fair to you?

Do you really want a list of every question you haven't answered in this thread?

It would take a long time to comppse, but I will do that if you will honestly answer them all.

So while you're praying can you toss in a request for a college student who badly needs new contacts, another Physics text, to pay her bills, and eat please?

Thanks.

What exactly are you saying here, Kathy...? That if for some reason something happens to Roadtoad and/or his wife that helps to alleviate their current financial situation, that it is solely due to god's intervening at your request...? That it would be absolute and unmistakable proof that not only does your god exist, but that he answers the prayers of his faithful...?

I would ask that you think very hard before answering my question, Kathy. I do not wish there to be any misunderstanding in regards to your response.

Jen

I realize even the very breath I breath is a gift from God.
Do you also realize that the fact that you need to breathe in the first place is also a "gift" from God.
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

Job was such an idiot...

Didn't all of Job's children die? And didn't he get "new ones," because children are interchangeable and can be replaced just like puppies or pet fish?

Yep. A better family is the prize when you play the ultimate celestial gameshow, "Test Your Faith."

If God really loved Job as a parent loves his children, then wouldn't he have told Job, "I'm not killing your children - it's just that they aren't happy here anymore so I am going to put them on a farm where they can run and play all day"?

Do fundamentalists believe that Job's children went to heaven?

Hello? Kathy? Do you want me to repost all teh questions you haven't answered?

You've posted since my offer so I can only assume you've seen it and pulled the same runaway you have done in the past from questions that don't fit your worldview.

Do fundamentalists believe that Job's children went to heaven?

Of course not, since they weren't baptized.

Seriously, though, it's hard to make a real case that the whole story is anything but allegory: one thinker's approach to the problem of evil.
