In other words, he's admitting that they're not there to do their proper job, but to quell the protest against them.

I read long ago, in a source not remembered now, a capsule definition of fascism - that it occurs when the police no longer protect the people, but protect the state against them. And there it is!

If you don't think police reports that it is happening are evidence that it is happening, then what else are you doing instead to establish whether it is happening?

By this time the winds have pushed the gas back at the ICE vehicles so they have to resort to shoving people to get away from their own mess.

I seem to recall that during a State of the Union speech by a Democratic President, some of his opponents found it opportune to stand up and yell "liar, liar." It seems something that bears repeating now. If they don't have the guts to yell it themselves, they could find a tape recording of the prior event and play it back.
